and you cant blame jefferson for just being a victim of his time. he damn well knew it was immoral. he himself called it a great evil.

and yet he continued to hold slaves, including his own children (though their freedom was negotiated by their mother, who agreed to remain a slave for life in exchange for them to be freed when they reached the age of 21)

jefferson did a lot of great things and when looking at his lasting effects, did a lot more good than harm... but he's a complicated figure to say the least

I don't care about your warped translation or the moral judgment of a leftist.
    Then unwarp it.

Is slavery evil, yes or no?

Nathan89, this is not a difficult question.

Yes or no, is slavery evil?

    Which ones?

Don't be coy now, say what you really mean.
I don't care about statues. I care about statutes. Let's do away with some statutes.
National Firearms Act, especially regarding suppressors.
    that's the only one?

    You said statutes?
No there's others but you're just going to flip through them and move on. Get to the move on part.
Fine by me if you lack the courage of your convictions even to name them.

    I expected as much.

If your question gets ignored maybe you should reflect on the quality of your question.

    Is slavery evil?

Seems pretty easy for anyone who is honest and not actually evil to answer.

    Yes or no?

Yeah chattel slavery is pretty evil. Don't know why people don't also consider it genocide when ~1/3 of slaves being transported across the Atlantic died on the ship.

First try. Genocide would seem an appropriate term for that.
