More R & D into alternative sources of energy for big oil companies.
Big thing right now is H2 gas production and storage.

Some companies are ahead of others but most are putting their hat in.

Lets get on with it. Use green energy to produce the gas by electrolysis of water. Burn it for energy and the bi product is water.

Most expensive gas in the U.S.

California continues to shatter its record of highest gas prices and the most expensive gas prices in the country, averaging $5.28 per gallon in the Golden State. California is the only state with an average cost over $5.

In Mono County, which borders Nevada and home of popular tourist destination Mammoth Mountain, the average prices of gas is $5.95. But other places are seeing higher cost; KABC reported a station in Los Angeles had prices at $6.99 per gallon. The cheapest average cost of gas is in Missouri and Oklahoma at $3.60.

Here are the most expensive average costs of gas per gallon in the county, per AAA:

    California ($5.28)
    Hawaii ($4.69)
    Nevada ($4.52)
    Oregon ($4.46)
    Washington ($4.40)
    Alaska ($4.36)
    Illinois ($4.26)
    Connecticut ($4.21)
    New York ($4.20)
    Pennsylvania ($4.17)

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...on/9402743002/

    ---

This is why they should've set the price at $7 a gallon a while back like I said, tbh... this wouldn't be weekly news. Amateur hour, tbh...

Plus for Californians it's a drop in the bucket, and who cares about Missouri and Oklahoma since you're never getting their vote anyways...

Agreed. Seeing the economy is doing great, the only question I have is whether it's going to be Old Joe or Kamala fixing the economic mess Dennison left them.

OPEC+ will discuss production cuts tomorrow

“This is probably a little bit of payback,” Phil Flynn, an analyst with the Price Futures Group, said in an interview. “The Biden administration early on was saying they were going to use their strategic reserve to teach OPEC a lesson. Back in November they called out OPEC to raise production and OPEC didn’t see it that way. And so the Biden administration released oil from the reserve to try to cool down gasoline prices.”

“But the strategic reserve isn’t big enough to control prices for an extended period of time,” Flynn said. “And even though it might have had some influence on prices for a little while, now you could see prices getting up higher than they would have been, because there wasn’t a production response from the oil companies. Now OPEC has more control over the market.”
