Eh, he'll be injured again after 5 games so who cares.
Sounds like he’ll be back soon. He’s going to hinder the tank isn’t he, smh.
Eh, he'll be injured again after 5 games so who cares.
Looking forward to see what momentum he'll have. We need a 4, desperately. And if we draft a 4, they'll need some buttering.
If he's anything like he was when healthy in Portland that would be huge. He's exactly the type of player this team desperately needs right now.
Granted, he was only 20-22 and played just 2691 minutes, but Collins wasn't good with the Trail Blazers and he can't play the four.
Their trying to shoehorn him into it at times was a product of roster construction. It's also foolish to think he hasn't permanently lost athleticism/mobility.
I have to laugh at this because it will probably happen.
Lol……..are you insane?
Or maybe he won’t……. We shall see Nostradamus
DJ has been getting Jak some easy buckets in the PnR this year. Zollins is a pretty big wild card given injury history but if he showed signs of a nice touch around the basket, 3 pt range and ability to finish when healthy. Half of this board gets wet when Jok enters the game, surprised they aren’t the least bit excited to see if Zollins can resume his career.
On top of that, he had one of the best def FG% at the rim one of his more complete seasons.
Spurs need that swagger (plus of course his shooting and defense). But that at ude is what this team lacks sometimes. Only DJM shows that much fight
Pop would bench him for part of the season for not backing down from confrontation on the court. Pop can’t stand players who show any emotion on the court that is why he loved KY.
Truth. It’s not emotion, though, because Keldon does that all game, every game. It’s confrontation. I would think Zollins would have figured that our already, being around the team since August.
We’ve had players that run a little hot over the years as long as it isn’t hurting the team……. Zach will be fine standing up for himself.
If by fine you mean sitting on the bench, then we agree. Pop basically castrated Davis Bertans, and then sat him on the bench for a month the couple of times he "ran a little hot."
Zach 'running a little hot' should be the least of anyone's concern here...
The Spurs have had many 'enforcers' over the years.
Pop likes tough players who play hard.
I hope we get to see what Collins brings soon.
The latest quote I saw from Pop was that he was basically healed, but needed some 3 on 3, and 5 on 5 before he takes the court, and covid is making that difficult.
Agreed!
Zach Collins could be the most important acquisition of an already fairly nice offseason.
Or he could be a complete bust (likely due to injury).
This is the type of high-upside low-risk move that the Spurs have had to make, of necessity, for decades. When they work the Spurs are hailed as prescient. When they don't they're quickly forgotten (they being not only the moves but the Spurs, themselves).
Collins has the potential to be the straw that stirs or . . .
Stephen Jackson sure never showed confrontation...oh wait.
? PATFO apologist and Collins fan boy.
A few years ago I wondered why Zach did not do more in Portland.
So ballyhooed yet not much to back it up.
Big guys take a while so …
Running hot?
Based on his history, I'd settle for just running.
Top 25 Spur of all time.
