Sounds like the water quality was very poor so some of the uses looks like it would require a lot of filtering.
Anyways it does not sound good.
The Ukrainians really do need to take control of the ports in Crimea in order to curtail the Russians from being a more constant threat to the county or Ukraine.
At some point the Ukrainians taking Crimea seems to be very important in everything I have read if Ukraine is to become a viable country.
Peace without Crimea will not be a lasting peace. If anyone has something to counter this argument I would like reading it. Future Industry and farming (exports and imports), defensively VERY important.

The Ukrainians discussed with the media an idea they had floated to damage the dam enough to flood the sandbar islands. Of course, this is stupid, because even if it worked, if the dam is damaged in that way, catastrophic failure is likely. It’s hard to send amphibious vehicles across a raging torrent of floodwater. Now they’ve lost the element of surprise.
The Russians, being stupid, read that idea, thought it was smart, lowered the dam level to plant explosives, then raised the dam level, then tried to blow a small hole in the dam, which of course once compromised totally collapsed. They didn’t even bother to move their positions on the left bank out of the way in advance.
Betting on Russia being stupid is always the safe bet.

The first days of the Ukrainian counteroffensive did not lead to any victories for the Ukrainian Army. After two days of massive attacks on the fronts of the Zaporozhye region and the south of the DPR, Ukrainian units suffered heavy losses, but failed to take control of any of the settlements.
On June 5, Ukrainian forces managed to enter the village of Novodonetskoye, but did not gain a foothold there and retreated after prolonged battles. On the morning of June 6, the frontlines in the Donbass and southern regions remained unchanged.
The Ukrainian military paid a high price for the failed attempts to break through the Russian defense. The Russian Defense Ministry estimated the enemy’s losses at 1.5 thousand soldiers, as well as 28 tanks and 109 armored fighting vehicles.
Western main battle tanks did not help the advancing Ukrainians. The Russian Defense Ministry announced the destruction of at least 8 German Leopard tanks. NATO equipment is now burning out in the Ukrainian steppes, including MaxxPro MRAPS, French armored fighting vehicles such as AMX-10RC etc.
The situation remains tense on the frontlines. Ukrainian attempts to open an auxiliary front are expected in the Kherson region.
