Even with USA withholding M1 abrams tanks, Germany has finally decided to send leopard tanks
Apparently Abrams is a whole lot harder to learn. Ukraine does not need this level of sophistication when the Leopards will work very well and get into combat quickly. What I have read anyways. The German public itself was divided on sending the tanks so Germany wants to be as far away from this war as we in the US are. Well, they are in Europe. Welcome to war yet again. We are so fortunate geographically.

Standing back to back we'd shoot away from each other. Maybe that explains why you haven't ended it all.
Wow such harsh burns coming from you... Maybe I'll shed a tear like your ass does here daily.

Of course you don’t owe me anything.
Avoiding the question shows you lack integrity and anything useful to say.
I just thought you might want to add to the subject if you post on the subject.
    The subject is UKRAINE!

USA is sending M1 Abrams to Ukraine

Germany allows its client nations to sent Leopard II tanks, not sure about Germany sending its own Leopards

Is Pootin well equipped with anti-tank weapons?

Next up, USA allowing Ukraine weapons to reach targets beyond front lines, Dombas, and into Crimea.

$380 a barrel would be sweet tbh

I hope Ol Joe can get us there

Looks like Ukraine will last maybe 5 or 6 more weeks not 5 years
In Odessa, Ukrainians are girding for yet another fight in another major city as Russian warships and paratroopers threaten the southern, coastal region of Europe’s second-largest nation, with citizens laying sandbags to protect the art and culture of this key port city founded by Catherine the Great.

For one citizen of Odessa, however, the sensation of being prepared to fight a large and powerful enemy doesn’t feel new, because Oleksandr Gereskul has been battling his own enemies — at least virtually — for more than a year.

You see, Oleksandr Gereskul is an investor in GameStop GME, -5.70%. ...

Ukraine is turning into an endless money pit for the American taxpayers just like the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Western backers don't even seem to have an agreed upon goal for the outcome of all this. Is it really to reclaim every square inch of Ukrainian territory because that's going to cost way more that what's already been committed.

That's the wrong perspective to take, tbh.

It is a matter of national security interest that as much harm comes to Putin and the oligarchs as possible. The worldwide damage that they are capable of causing has been severely handicapped by extending this conflict into a hopeless quagmire that will drain them far more severely than it will ever harm us. The loss of resources and humanity will cripple them for decades, not that Putin will be around to have to suffer the consequences much longer.

So this war, from merely a selfish American interest, is worth every dollar spent.

It's that kind of thinking that has enabled the nearly trillion dollar defense budgets to go one with very questionable returns on all that money spent while our country amasses historic unsustainable debt.

Russia is a nuclear threat and will remain so regardless of the outcome of this war, but its conventional military forces were and are hardly a serious threat to NATO as this war has shown.

If you'd seriously like to reduce military spending I'm all for it. We can do that without taking away funding from worthy causes. I'd start by taking a hard look at the books and addressing the massive amount of internal theft that occurs.

Military budgeting is asinine in it's current form. If you don't spend every dollar allocated your way then the budget gets cut the following year. Oddly enough, very few departments have fiscal responsibility as their priority so most budgets perpetually increase. So what happens to all the unnecessary equipment that gets bought? It disappears and people get paid on the taxpayers' dime. Yet, it's not really a topic that can be addressed because nobody can hold the military accountable without being called a socialist/communist/traitorous military hating liberal. Because some folks rah, rah instincts are just irrepressible, I guess.

Were you aware that the U.S. military has 6 missing nukes out in the wild? Just up and walked away with nobody getting paid, I'm sure. Just forgot where we put 'em....Damn shame.

On a somewhat related sidebar, it's odd that the "unsustainable debt" always rears it's ugly head whenever ty people take a look at attempting to cut funding from worthy goals that pay for themselves. It's a tried and true strategy I suppose, but it's pretty shameful that so many people fall for such a lazy tactic year after year after year.

Education funding - unsustainable debt, they'll cry - Never mind that a more educated population will be far more productive, thus creating more tax revenue in the long term. Never mind also the associated decrease in crime that comes with increased education as well as the associated increase in general well being, thus lower healthcare expenditure.

National healthcare - unsustainable debt, they'll cry - Never mind that addressing treatable health issues early would save billions in lost money and lost productivity in the long run.

Hurting an organized crime lord in charge of an entire country - unsustainable debt, they'll cry - Never mind the immeasurable amount of harm this sucker has done worldwide by spreading divisive propaganda that has nations spinning their wheels attempting to address internal conflict as opposed to spending those much needed resources on more worthy causes like education, healthcare, conservation etc.

Tax breaks for the wealthy - but what about the unsustainable debt? - Somehow our concern is mitigated and we'll get by

Corporate bailouts - unsustainable debt might increase here, no? - Maybe it would have been prudent to let the free market decide that foolish business practice should be punished. If they die then they will be replaced by more fiscally responsible, i.e. better businessmen.

I'd suggest you try to zoom out your perspective a bit and realize that there are many causes that not only deserve a significant amount of funding, but significantly more funding and that said funding will go a long way towards addressing our nation's "unsustainable debt."

Finally, the folks ing the most about "unsustainable debt" are not folks that are concerned about the nation's well-being. Their concern starts and ends with their own finances.

Most business owners understand that if you spend massively more than you earn that you will eventually become insolvent. Many people in government understand this too but sadly they're willing to simply pass the problem on to the next generation in order to get reelected.

That's why it's worth it to grind them into dust in Ukraine.
Russia's conventional forces didn't measure up to NATO before the war and they don't now. So spending even more is terrible value for money if the reason it's worth it is to "grind them into dust" at taxpayer expense. If Europe wants to fund it all, that's fine.
