Because there’s currently no other exciting pair on the team…

Six year age gap between the two.

Eleven year age gap between CP3 and Devin Booker.

Maybe Dejounte could be the CP3 to Primo’s Devin Booker. (No, I’m not saying either one is at that level)

Highlight from the Rockets game: when Primo made a sick move against Jalen, and Murray then looked for Primo on offense on consecutive plays.

Lowlight: There was a stretch where Primo was the designated PG with Forbes, Vassell, Keldon, and Landale. The offense looked like garbage and Primo was pulled. He’s gotta be better.

Dejounte Murray is shooting the ball from the 3 PT line as well as Davis Bertans, and arguably better since DJ has more 3 PT shot attempts.

…and that, folks, is a sentence no one believed anyone would ever construct.

Other comparable shooters to DJ (roughly the same amount of 3 PT attempts and FG%)

Vassell, whom quite a few believe is the best shooter on the team
    Ricky Rubio
    Vucevic
    Schroder
    Dinwiddie
    KPJ
    Ingram
    Brunson
    Brogdon

Yeah. When primo was the pg, it was awful. Nice little learning experience.

They are quite the 1/2 punch. When I watch Primo compete, the first word that comes to mind is "solid". This guy has some solid fundamentals, from handles through shooting and even his defense is solid, both on ball and off ball defense. The room for improvement is so big that there is really no ceiling to the level he can reach. Dejounte is a hard worker, he improves little by little, inch by inch, which is a great indicator that he'll keep on improving.

I really hope that is the starting back court by opening night next year. We need Primo to turn into a top tier scorer. Anything else is gravy.
