Finally, this nothing deal makes a bit of sense.

    A seond round draft pick?

    In 2028?

    Protected?

This is the 2022 equivalent of cab fare.

Protected 31-33 is almost no protection at all. Denver would have to finish as one of the three worst teams in the league for it not to convey. Not impossible, but not all that likely.

    Seriously what the

next thing we know, people will cry about getting nothing for Eubanks (the worst Spur of all time) when he gets let go
Don't let Eubanks go for anything less than a FRP and a locket of Kobe's hair.

I wonder if Boston is trying to find a team to get them under the tax altogether. Like maybe OKC has a guy they'd route to SA for a second, cash and JH. Hopefully the Spurs don't wrap themselves up as buyers for a guy like Williams or Dort.

Another idea is that the Spurs want to use Forbes to aggregate, but that's less likely. JH is already a salary boost over Bryn, and matching rules basically let them take back three times Bryn's salary due to JH's contract. Unless Forbes is going to be part of a Thad Young-for-a-big-fish trade, I don't see it.

The deal not being finalized, wouldn't that be the different teams doing their due diligence on physicals?

It's possible Forbes is the hold-ups.

As a one year contract guy, doesn't that mean he has to consent to a trade or is my brain not working right?

As a FA this summer,he’d be dumb to not want to be spoon fed open shot by Joker.

also, spurs don't strike me as an organization that wouldn't have already consulted with forbes on the trade.

Yeah this trade is absolutely in Forbes best interest. One big playoff game off the bench will help secure him his next deal and he is more than capable of going off on a whim.

He's Eubanks 2.0 man. He'll play the 4 and 5 depending on spacing and rotation. Sometimes Pop plays both Landale and Eubanks. You tell me who is the 4 and who is the 5...speaking of "positional designation."
He couldn't be more different than Eubanks and the latter can't credibly play the four. They only played him some alongside Landale in an emergency situation basically.
