This could be feasible, at least from a cap perspective. Payton will command a short contract at this point in his career. Odom could be had for cheap, IMO. Add the talent, adjust as necessary.

MarcusBryant... it has been a while, friend. I hope all work and no play has not made SpursFan a dull boy. I trust not.

If the Spurs got those two guys, I think that would make me believe that Popovich has my phones tapped and my IP address. I am still on cloud 9 since we landed Claxton and Jackson.

I don't know if the Spurs would be so bold as to go for Odom with his issues. I think that his past with make him more affordable, though. And if he can't be reformed in San Antonio's system of class and grace, wehre can he?

Mr. Payton. Let's just say that I don't think he'd be afraid of Starbury. And after getting his @ss handed to him by Kidd on Saturday, I expect him to be play very well in Game 2.

You mean to tell me that this could be a reality?:

    PF Odom
    SF Jackson
    C Duncan
    PG Parker
    SG Payton

    Bench:

    C Rose
    F Bowen
    G Ginobili

    D@mn, playa.

    P.S.

I am highly concerened about what I am reading that Karl Malone and/or Scottie Pippen may be wearing the purple and gold next season. If that happens, I am afraid that the Lakers will be widening the gap as soon as we think we're shoring it up.

No need to pray to Allah. Sterling is scared of the All Mighty Dallah.

In principle, I agree. However, Sterling is going to have to spend around 20 million or so this summer to get to the minimum payroll required by the cba. Therefore, I think if Odom signs an offer sheet that is too cheap (anything starting between 5 and 7 mil) Sterling will match. Cause lets face it, there aren't a lot of free agents kicking down the doors for him to spend his $ on.

Make an offer to Odom starting at 8 to 8.5 million, then throw everything else at Payton, and I'm a happy boy.

    Parker
    Payton
    Jack
    Odom
    Duncan

    would be a of a starting unit.:shock

Sterling is also foced by CBA rules to hand out $24 million in checks this season. He's going to pay Brand and Odom might get paid too out of that. That's equivalent to 2 max contracts and and MCX deal that Sterling is required by NBA law to pay.

Sterling has to hand out the money, but what I doubt is his willingness to pay the backend of those MAX contracts. In four or five years, do you see Sterling wanting to pay those salaries?

    I don't.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling's willing to pay either Brand or Odom, but I doubt he'll pay both (it would leave him with too little flexibility later on). Unfortunately, since it doesn't sound like Brand will risk signing an offer sheet this summer, it's entirely possible that Sterling will match any offer for his favorite player (Odom).

It's not only possible, it's highly probable that Sterling will try and keep Brand and Odom, and will let Maggette, Miller and Olowokandi walk this summer.
