Don't like the move tbh. Figured Abrams would be involved, but losing Gore is a kick in the nads. Gotta hope Pomeranz and Morejon come back healthy and better than ever.
I think we all agree Padres aren't making Soto the first $500M man. Then if you can flip him before free agency then it's worth it.

As of now Padres are not guaranteed a Playoff home game. Likely traveling to Atlanta or New York.

Mets still no major deal. Dodgers have only added Gallo (for a legit prospect too). Phillies and Cardinals not making a big push either.

Think the Padres will tbh (or he'll take a shorter deal with more per year). He didn't take the deal with the Nats because the per year money wasn't on par with what recent guys of similar talent got.

IIRC with the new Wild Card format the first game would be in SD then the last two on the road.

    Padres also acquired Drury

Surprisingly the Higher seed will host all 3 games in the Wild Card

"These games will all be played in a three-game series' hosted by the team with the better record."

You're on crack. Major score for the Padres.

This completes the deal as a total winner for Padres.
Losing Voit instead of Hosmer sucked.

Otherwise it's su iously in favor of the Padres.
I suspect some million were fed to Nationals under the table.

Arcia popped his hammy last night. Probably season ender. In his place today...

Braves rookie Vaughn Grissom is the YOUNGEST player - at 21 years and 217 days - to hit a homer AND steal a base in his debut in AL/NL history.

Previous youngest? Josť Offerman (21 years, 284 days) in 1990.
