I think you gotta see what type of team a University can field for a bowl game. So many opt outs and transfers.
I get the feeling Kiffin gathers a group of mercenaries better than many coaches. The bowl season is a whole new season really for next year imo. (other than the chosen 4, soon to be top 12). Unless you have a group of seniors (maybe not NFL bound) that are using the bowl as their last hurrah together, where is the motivation other than motivation for a good kerfuffle. Especially with the NFL, NIL, and Transfer portal. It seems you have to have a very dedicated group who really wants to play hard.

And that would be Oregon St. That team had some serious "want" imo.

Apparently Kiffin had zero opt outs and I dont know who went to the portal so I retract the above.
It appears he has a real problem motivating any kid in a bowl game. Except for fighting. They were motivated to fight and so was TT.
Kiffin especially has trouble with bowl games it seems.

They won their first 3 games.
Their defense was absolutely awful when conference games started.
Slight improvement against teams going down the tube imo.

If this bowl game holds to conference form for Oklahoma their defense should completely collapse.
If Fl. St. does not crush it on offense during the 2nd half I agree with you, Fl St. getting exposed.
The ACC was especially bad Imo.

Oklahoma front 7 can absolutely get pushed all over the field. Happened multiple times in their big 12 losses.
I have never seen such gaping holes in a d-line. A lot worse than UTs 5-7 season, and that’s saying a lot.

Anyways it’s fun to see if these things hold form. I never have a problem watching OU get crushed. Here’s hoping.

If you had told me before this game Oklahoma was missing both their o-tackles, FSU would gain almost 600 yards WITH a dropped 60 yd TD pass AND, only have to give OU +9.5….. I would have taken that bet all day long and lost a lot money.

Sadly I think OU will be OK when Venables gets more time with OU.

Exciting finish! Sooners returning players have my respect. We weren't able to control their rushing attack and they remained strong on 3rd Downs. Alot for them to look forward to ahead.

Ya it's been a decade since we had a strong Linebacker core. Size wise they are almost just big safties.

OU did well on deep routes too but those were impressive sideline catches just have to tip hat.

The one he dropped… worst drop on the easiest type of ball. One in which the ball is moving right with you and lands ever so softly right in your hands stomach level. Horrible drop.
