I don't like the idea of Welfare Queen Musk buying a public platform to spread his lies. I don't use Twitter, so it wouldn't affect me much, but I think forums like that need to become more socialized (which is different from nationalizing it), not privatized. I agree it's not about money directly. It's about expanding his power over the culture. The dude is either extremely dishonest or surprisingly stupid if you look at his business decisions from any lens other than him making money. It's bad enough that he's rich. He definitely doesn't need to control the conversation.

Elon controlling Twitter makes social media platforms more diverse. There are significantly larger social platforms than Twitter. So he wouldn't be controlling the conversation.
