Because imo, the books they are reading are pushing an agenda. Most good parents are capable of teaching their kids tolerance without having to have their kid contemplate whether they want to be a drag queen or not.
I mean, why not have some BDSM people come in and read as well.

LMAO. That's a funny scenario which I wasn't suggesting. Having some kids come into the library and seeing a BDSM demonstration.
Maybe that was hyperbolic. But my point being that I don't need to have alternate lifestyles suggested to my 5 year old. Imo, it's not normal. If they find that path on their own, then fine. I'll deal with it then. But little kids are suggestible.

my gay friends weren't turned straight by decades of heteronormative grooming that started when they were little kids, I have my doubts that drag queen story hour will turn your kids gay.

Not really any different than having a local acting troupe read books in a library, but they're probably not reading books about kids who identify as Community Theatre actors.
I think inclusion would go a lot further if people found ways to just BE part of the community rather than making it all about iden y.
