I don't buy the "WI/MI/PA are all guaranteed to vote together" stuff.

Sure they have voted together every year since 1992, but it's been largely cir stantial.

One is firmly a rust belt state and you can argue is THE heartbeat of the rust belt.

Another is about half rust belt and half corn belt, both of which have trended to the right a lot recently especially when you factor in trends in Iowa.

And the third state is a state in which about two thirds of the area, but only about half -at most- of the population is rust belt, while the other half is increasingly liberal-trending Mid Atlantic. Tons of country club ex-GOP types in certain suburbs that have become increasingly aligned with Democrat values.
