Donald Trump's lasting legacy will now be the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large

Updated 3:37 PM ET, Sat June 25, 2022

Nigh on a half-century & that old man rendered it null & void.

    Trump President.
    Not Clinton.

Roe is dead, Trump put it on-the-spot and killed it. No mistakes this time; he chose wisely, hitting each of the 3 like ringing a bell. Nobody faltered, or, turned him.

And late your side came hard; first with the leak and then late with the assassination attempt on Kavanaugh.

    Trump did right.

Hi. I would love to hear your nuanced discussion of "federalism and 50 state laboratories (lol, it's laboratories of democracy but that's not an important detail now is it)." I'm most curious what you think of "federalism and 50 laboratories" in light of the Civil War Amendments and the New Deal Era decisions of the Supreme Court. Bonus points if you mention Griswold, Cruzan, and/or the 9th Amendment.

Wonder why Loving v. Virginia is not part of the opinion, since that was also a right readily granted by the SCOTUS, and wasn't historical nor traditional...

    rhetorical question.

Peabody Energy (BTU) already up 7% today , the market is more or less pricing in SCOTUS gutting the EPA's regulatory ability as a certainty.
Congrats. Idk anything about the company but the chart looks like it could bounce pretty good

Pretty sure the woman getting the abortion could still be prosecuted under state law, even if it's on federal land.

You could sue anybody, especially since that ass-backward Texas law, but whether they would prevail is a different story.

AFAIK, federal buildings/locations move jurisdiction to federal courts, and into federal law, which makes state courts moot. This is why they have their own police, etc.

Similarly, you could argue that there was no coercion on the part of the federal government to have anybody get services at that "clinic", strictly voluntary.

But then this would be sued to and back to the SCOTUS, so nothing is certain anyways.

For one, there should be a tacit federal approval of these sites, and likely it wouldn't come from Congress (maybe?), so that puts it in shakier grounds.

I know it's not fair to ask doctors to break the law, but at some point the health of the pregnant person should get prioritized.

Tech Companies Won't Say If They’ll Give Cops Abortion Data

Motherboard asked some of the biggest tech companies on the planet if they'll provide law enforcement with user data related to abortions. None of them answered the question.

Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, and Snapchat, have refused to clarify whether they would fulfill or deny law enforcement requests for data that related to investigations involving those seeking or providing abortions.

Motherboard also contacted multiple financially focused companies, including Binance, Kraken, CashApp, Coinbase, and Venmo. Motherboard also contacted Uber and Lyft.

    Motherboard

asked if each will provide data in response to requests from law enforcement if the case concerns users seeking or providing abortions, or some other context in which the agency is investigating abortions.

    Motherboard also

asked generally what each company is planning to protect user data in a post-Roe America.

In their privacy policies, the vast majority of companies say they will, unsurprisingly, provide law enforcement with access to user data in response to a valid order.

The tech companies ... they may provide the forensic or digital evidence that puts a person who can be pregnant in jail.
