DPS dishing on local LE to distract from their own public misstatements?

Pissed off county cops or BORTAC guys?

Whose interest is served by leaking this?

Regardless, officers had access the entire time to a “halligan” — a crowbar-like tool that could have opened the door to the classrooms even if it was locked, the source said.

    Gonzales v Castle Rock explainer

    Pretty mind blowing, tbh

    tl;dr

Police have no duty to protect and, in this case, none to follow a state law that specifically bound them to act, because "LE tradition"

2005? The supreme Court ruled that citizens are not en led to protection by the police.

And that overules any state law that police are required to protect the citizenry

They can promote public safety all day. They aren't legally required to take a bullet for you. This isn't new, as I said. So your "so much for" insinuates that something was lost when in reality "safety" is just a feeling you had, enabled by ignorance, that got stripped away by enlightenment.

the preexisting narrative that police are brave heroes who lay their bodies on the line to keep us safe took a hit too. like you said they don't have to and often won't , the massacre in Uvalde is an example of that.

Gonzales v Castle Rock is also mind-blowing for saying that police weren't required to enforce protective orders, despite the plain language of a law specifically requiring them to.

Not if DMC gets ahold of one of these "edges".
He is able to Bobby Flay 50 school children running rampant in a school yard.

    DMC:
"The inclined plane, if manufactured at very narrow angles, can be used to cut jello.
I can produce this weapon in my garage but its not available to the general public. "

"Yeah the 'safety belt' is just a feeling we have. Now the feeling is that you are strapped in and less likely to be pin balled around the inside of a car, but thats just a feeling around your waste and chest. You have now been enlightened. Welcome to the new plane of consciousness I exist in."

Regardless of what they might say, I don't think anyone buys that. Just like the car argument. It's intellectually dishonest.
