Lottery threepeat was quite an accomplishment in LA. Don't think Duncan would have been capable. And certainly could have never snagged a prime lottery slot like Kobe.

Kobe three-peated though. Duncan couldn't even go back-to-back.

Kobe lottery three-peated as well as a prime lottery appearance. Duncan couldn't even go for one.

Mavs were in the WCF, they’re already a contender

normally I'm with y'all but this is a poor move by the Mavs imo

I’m just talking about the objectively wrong opinion that Wood & Powell are the same type of player. Wood has actual offensive skills and can shoot 3’s. Powell’s only NBA quality skill is catching lobs.

True, Wood is the better player in a vacuum but the Mavs will be regretting this move by December tbh. He can shoot the three unlike Powell but his "skills" are overblown. Not to mention he's somehow worse than Powell defensively and his history of off-court problems. If they didn't have to include the pick it'd be a worthwhile gamble since his contract is movable, but they could've gotten more value out of it imo.

Fair take not excited these finals.
Why is that? I proclaimed this Finale after Celtics took out Bucks. Labeled it a sexy defense vs offense and old vs young matchup.

I still think Boston will force Game7 on their floor.

keep in mind that wood (since he came into his own and received regular PT) has been on nothing but garbage teams with beyond atrocious defensive guards and wings. lets give him a chance on an actually quality team where he will get the easiest shots he will ever have in his career playing alongside luka, some quality defensive wings and a good defensive coach/system.

he may still end up failing monumentally, but it seems unfair to say hes worse than powell when he hasnt had anything close to a similar situation yet
