If I'm Brooklyn I'd rather let Kyrie walk than trade for Westbrook, especially with the Lakers having emptied out their tradeable first rounders for Davis and Westbrook. Maybe the Knicks can put together a package if Brooklyn is willing to take Julian's salary back though. LOL if Durant gets stuck playing with Westbrook again though.

Why would Brooklyn want that deal? No one in his right mind would take Westbrook just to get Malik Monk, who is about the only thing worthwhile on their roster outside of James and Davis.

I don't even remember what's ostensibly wrong with Ben Simmons, I just assumed he would be since he's on a new team.

Salary cap space maybe ?! I call bull but Brooklyn actually can get FA so 46 million is actually usable for them?

If they wanted to salary dump Joe Harris it might be able to open up $28 million or so in capspace for 23-24. That would be a horrible idea though to waste a year of the tail end of Durant's prime for non max capspace though. And the Lakers don't have a first they can trade until like 2027. Nets would probably also have to make it a three way to see if they could get an asset that fit in exchange for the Lakers sending out Malik Monk.

As much as I can't stand Durant and the merits of a championship with what would have been the most offensively talented trio ever could have been debated, let's face it, flaws and all, if they were healthy in '21 they were clearly winning the championship.

So sick of Kyrie Irving. Get a career ending injury already. Imagine people thought Durbeta and two cancers in Irving and Harden were good enough to win a ring

Fully healthy they win it without trading for Harden tbh. Just a dumb trade all around.

With a mostly healthy Kyrie they were up 2-1 against the Bucks. Add in Jarrett Allen and Caris Levert and it's enough to win that series. Then they have little trouble with the Hawks and prolly beat the Suns in 6 or less.

Kyrie is placing himself as the summer's dramatic armistice to keep the NBA relevant post next Thursday. Not sure there will be a bigger weirdo situation than this one.
