Official SL Roster has been released.
Have seen a lot of teams release their SL rosters - have the Spurs?
Official SL Roster has been released.
i had seen that woodard is on the roster again. it'd be interesting to see how he fares as a fringe interest.
of course, it will be great to see how barlow reacts to what will probably be the best compe ion he's yet to face. and as one article noted, if primo actually plays all five games.
Doesn't mean anything but interesting to see Dom Barlow is listed as a forward only and not both F/C
I'm thinking Primo plays a max of 2 games, and maybe only one if he plays well enough in it.
I see no reason to not expect him to play the full SL. This is his year to be the featured option. Next year is for the rookies. People reference Anderson sitting but forget that he sat in his third SL. He played every game of his second and won MVP.
Guessing starters for first game: Primo, Branham, Woodard, Sochan, Barlow with Wesley first sub off the bench and potentially replacing Primo after the first one...
Wieskamp probably starts tbh.
I'm basing my assumption on there only being 5 SL games total. Are there more?
If I'm right, I'm assuming that the FO has seen enough of Primo compared to the three (oops, four) rooks to where they'd rather give the new guys a few games to get their feet wet, rather than have them all play mostly off the ball while Primo does his thing.
They'll see those guys in the d-league and training camp. It makes more sense to evaluate someone like Primo, especially as they attempt to make moves to address their rotation. The young guys likely don't factor into it, especially as primary ball-handlers.
Also the Spurs have had five SL games in the past. They only started doing the Utah SL a few years ago. They used to play their Vegas games and lose them and get a single consolidation game every year.
Interesting that Tre Jones isn't on the roster.
He balled out last summer league, he’s payed his dues
Roster looking stacked af
I’ll be there FYI - will report back
cant wait,tbh
Won't be but a couple of guys who know the system and plays. This is going to be like pick up games for the most part. Players are going to be going with their instincts and natural moves, but that's cool.
Looking forward to some electric dunks by Wesley
Curious to see what the future holds for Lil Weezy. I didn't follow him that closely last year.
Probably not a good look for PATFO should Primo or one of the rookies outshine him by a wide margin. He needs to be consistent whether it's passing, shooting, defending, not having a bunch of TOs because quite frankly he stunk in every one of those metrices last year.
I think we’ll see a lot of Primo this year. He will be Spurs starting PG
Don’t remember the Spurs ever sending a player to SL after two complete seasons on the 15 man roster.
So Primo lost an inch… he was listed at 6-6 last summer. Wieskamp’s height remains 6-6. Strange.
Sochan was assumed to be 6-9 in the pre-draft period, but clocks in at 6-8 here.
Just some observations. I dont think this listing is particularly reliable given what happened to Primos height.
They probably are measuring shoeless which is the correct, apples to apples comparison and now official measuring standard of the NBA. NBA.com had Primo 6’4 shoeless last October so he probably is pushing 6’5 now.
