Not getting a single good player back would be really dumb unless we get multiple top10 picks.
If we’re trading Dejounte to go full tank-mode for ‘23, then the Knicks’ alleged offer of multiple higher FRP’s is much more compelling than the Hawks would with their picks that will likely be in the 20’s. This would be beyond dumb.

Why ATL specifically though? What picks would those be in return? It seems like we could trade DJ to almost any team with high pick potential that could be better than ATL.
How credible is Zach Klein?
If the Spurs do this we riot.
Man I’m so confused! I kinda understand us trading in Murray while his value is high but he wants to be here and he’s getting better every year!
I would imagine that in this trade scenario John Collins would be routed to a third team for additional draft compensation that would flow to the Spurs. Multiple unprotected picks from the Hawks and a third team would be very valuable. You never know what can happen with injuries/trades a few years from now. Look at the Rockets with Brooklyns picks.
What an absolutely stupid f'n FO if they pull the trigger
I would guess it's probably because DJ wants to go there. Can't think of another reason
I don't get it. Besides, we don't have a trustworthy point guard otherwise.
I mean I could see us absorb Gallo into cap space for a 1st, but not by trading DJ. All these Hawks trades sound ridiculous
Would suck too since it would mean the last two fiesta player jerseys i got had the player traded a season later (Got white's in 21, Murray's last year)
Again, Murray might want a trade, and he might not want it because his feelings are hurt. It's possible he and the team are on good terms, DJM loves Pop like a father, and Murray wants to welcome the rookies AND that he and the team feel like it's best for both sides if he moves to a contender.
I don't expect the Spurs front office to get fleeced in any deal. They're operating from a position of strength, having Murray under a very team-friendly contract and him coming off an all-star season.
I'm in full wait and see mode.
yeah, he said based on his convos league sources seem to think it's going down, not that he knows it is personally. i'm holding out hope this is all BS because I'd really hate to lose DJ for such paltry compensation
Poor journalism tbh
say it’s on the verge but that it’s not a done deal
maybe it’s just the fan in me, but these guys have to be more careful with words.
Collector's edition!
Still feels off that these ATL area media guys are going to town on these rumors.
Don't know WTF Primo did last year to convince the Spurs he's their PG of the future. This is re ed moving Dejounte for picks from a likely 46-55 win team.
This dumbass organization tanking 3 years too late and setting themselves back to another decade mired in irrelevancy
Like could we at least get Deandre Hunter or OO in the trade lol
Really curious how Spurs PR will handle explaining to the season ticket holders how they gave up their only homegrown all star in a few years.
Casual fans who attend have an attachment to players. Which recognizable player will they turn to next? Keldon?
Middling playoff team for the next two years, unless they believe they can sign an impact free agent this off-season. Blow up at least commits to a direction and builds on a solid base of young talent.
This is dumb enough to have Wright's name all over it.
