I just wanted to say if you guys or gals got a chance to watch it. Made me love him even and just absolute complete class in what he said about the spurs and their organization. The spurs did right by him and benefited themselves as well hopefully but just class in what he said. I wish him the best. Just amazing to have watched him grow and such a humble professional grateful thoughtful individual.

For the haters he literally said he wanted to be in SA.
Sorry dude watched it live on NBA network.
Dejounte on Spurs at his introductory presser in Atlanta:
"They didn't want to see me waste years rebuilding and stuff. They want to see me win and the best for Dejounte, and I thank them for that a lot. That's what makes our relationship special and family forever.""
This makes it seem like he asked to be traded to Atlanta.
He also said he's been talking to Trae for two or three weeks.
nobody wants to lose
oh geez, people, we have no idea what he may or may not have asked the FO to do.
Sounds like he wanted to win and PATFO said here in this organization we are proven winners and winning is great and all but it’s just basketball and we’d like you to take a pay cut and donate those fancy watches to charity boyyyy. We’ve also noticed you haven’t fully gotten over yourself lately so we will deduct that from future salary considerations. Respectfully of course.
Yep, I've been saying as much this whole time. Folks crying like Murray was forced away despite his loyalty seem extremely... Optimistic? They wanted to read more into his personality and relationship to the team than I did.
Agreed. I'd say, at least in my opinion, the whole situation played out as about as well as one could want when a team and player split ways. We picked him late in the first round. He worked hard and improved every year, and then we were able to trade him for some draft capital. Any frustration should be for the wasted DDR years, but that's the past and things are moving in a better direction with at least some semblance of a path. We are drafting well again and we are ac ulating picks. Happy for Murray that he moved on to a better situation and our situation is better now, too.
after they said they gonna trade him
Did you stroke your to it?
So basically Spurs said we plan to go through a rebuild and DJ said i still want to compete. When two sides have different goals it makes sense for them to part ways and pursue those goals.
In a way DJ did request a trade because his goals did not align with Spurs and they made the best of the situation without burning bridges.
In the end it works out for both parties i guess.
Why would you care???...grow up man!
I've alwayed liked DJ and I appreciate his hard work to improve every year... A shame he didn't come a few years earlier when we were true contenders. Had Kawhi not forced his way out, Dejounte would've been on a completely different trajectory and would probably retire a Spur.
It is what it is.
The whole shebang for those who have 20 min to kill. His San Antonio comments starts at 4 min mark.
Bend over and...
