    Let the bidding begin.

Who knows what dysfunctional Angels will do, but seems a deal must be made lest he walk for nothing after the '23 season.

Where does Trout's recent back injury come into the picture. Maybe you rebuild around Ohtani instead?

Ohts' is on record as saying "winning" (or not implied) is what will be the #1 driver of his next contract.

Unless Angel gets off to some acious start next season, it ain't gonna be reupping with them. That's assuming they keep him into next season.

    24-13 in 1st place.
Weird how Angels got off to that start this year.

    > ESPN Jeff Passan just said, "Soto is SoCal bound"

    Dodgers?

Freaking Nats about to tip the World Series scales again. Atleast Marlins were always respectful enough to operate their fire sales before the season

Padres should make a run at Ohtani instead of Soto tbh.

Padres fill their biggest hole. Sending 3 prominent prospects to Milwaukee.

    Looks like Ohtani staying

I'm waiting for the Soto to LA bomb any minute now. Still think Mets have a big move too

    Braves ceiling seems Happ.

Eh, Hader might just be a lateral move; he hasn't looked great this year. They also gave up Rogers and Lamet, so they still need more trades to shore up the bullpen. I give it a C with the potential to be a B+.

I'm okay with fans being excited, it's a major name but Brewers (currently in 1st) made this move for a reason. To your point.

I think Freeman has good numbers against him too

Gotta wait til the trade deadline tomorrow obviously but it looks like only three teams have a legit shot at it this year: Doyers, Yankees, and Astros.

LAD and NYY are regular season giants. They will be had in the Playoffs with that pitching.

Los Angeles Angels' Shohei Ohtani joins Babe Ruth as only players in MLB history to have at least 10 HRs and 10 wins in same season

Loser Angels planning on starting Babe Ohtani for at least the next 2 starts.

I don't like it. This year is gone, don't risk unnecessary arm injury for next year and trade value. He's already got the jacked up foot from the e step incident.

Of course Barney Moreno is strictly trying to sell tickets at this point.

Loser Angels started him anyway and per par he pitched great and they lost.
    6 ip 2 earned, 8Ks.

Ohtani has 165 strikeouts, which is tied for fifth in the majors. That's the third-most strikeouts through the first 20 starts of the season by an Angels pitcher, behind only Nolan Ryan, who had 211 in 1977 and 182 in 1973.
