Folks love to talk about the PL as if it was 2 or 3 levels above the rest of Europe, but if this were the case one assumes they would dominate continental cups, yet they seldom win any.
Well, people who claim they're 2-3 levels above the rest are dumb, but I still wouldn't use one (incomplete) round of getting exposed. We've had 2 all-English finals in the past 5 years with no other country having one....I don't think that proves anything either. The top teams (across Europe) usually win, period. No one is expecting any Spanish team outside of Real Madrid win CL and it's been that way for 8 years, tbh.
It’s 2 different things imo
- In terms of which donestic lesgue has the best product right now it’s the EPL
La liga isn’t super excitiing right now; even El Clasico is not the must watch fame it used to be
BuLi is great but it has a marketing problem, or maybe they are not promoting it heavily on purpose because they want to keep their best players for as long as possible.

So when people are saying EPL is the best lesgue , I don’t think they mean they have the best teams in Europe right now , it’s more in terms of the product compared to other domestic leagues.
Disclaimer : I’m talking about the current season. As resistanze said, in recent years EPL teams have done well in Europe
