lol Messi missed an empty net
Made DePaul his pants
Polish
that game, tbh. How did we suffer so much? It should have ended 5-0.
Now, to watch the rest of the round of 16 with a Cuban and a Scotch.
DAF loves his Cuban men
But you argies kept telling me he was better than Julian
I told you….
yeah Argentina made it more complicated than it was. Messi had a great game.. congrats !
Let’s hope France does the same
Not me
Australia basically fielding a bunch of plumbers and milkmen still put up a much better fight vs a way better team than muricans did
The way things turned out, we ended up with the second worst quarterfinals match (after France - England). Oh well. Not reaching the last 8 is a bad result for Argentina, reaching the semis would make it a good WC overall as far as I'm concerned, unless we're booted by Brazil (that would hurt TBH).
I rather play Holland than Croatia or Spain/Portugal
Scots too.
Nah... I'd swap Croatia for Netherlands in a heartbeat. But Spain / Portugal should be a good one also.
Well yeah McAllister was clutch in the group stage
Argentina vs Australia 2:1
Messi with an goal only he could made, to open the score.
The first quarter final key is Argentina vs Netherlands.
Argentina has had three, tbh:
Japan vs South Korea will be a neat quarterfinals, tbh
Holland and Croatia definitely seems like one nation ascending while another descending but I'll still side with the proven product. There is noway the Croats will come out flat but it's also unlikely you shut out Holland.
Actually, that might be an interesting perspective... on the other side of the bracket, France vs England, and Spain vs Portugal are natural rivalries. On this side of things, Argentina vs Netherlands has a lot of history, with the clockwork orange thrashing Argentina 4-0 in 1974, Argentina taking revenge 4 years later by beating them 3-1 in the final match, then in 1998 we met again in the quarterfinals with Bergkamp, Kluivert, Davids, Stam & co having the last laugh against Batistuta, Veron, Almeyda, Zanetti, Ayala & others, in a thrilling match that could have gone either way between two great teams, that ultimately was decided by a late goal. And finally, the semifinals in 2014 with Argentina eliminating Netherlands on penalties after a tactical matchup with Mascherano & Romero being the heroes of the game. To round up a classic quarterfinals, Japan vs Korea sound like the perfect complement, plus I'd be very happy for more selfish reasons
