After very long time Barça rallied to #1, since Madrid left some points vs Osasuna in the 7th round. Benzema missed a penalty. Still long way to go, the clásicos and games vs Atlético will define more the champion.

Barcelona made a super team, after selling everything and putting everything as collateral to loan more money. Bth, I doubt the socios will be able to keep the team long term.

Maybe they count on a mega Nike deal, after drastically improving on the sports part, or perhaps a better TV deal. Still, many Madrid’s key players are young.

No excuses this time around, it’s not the game that doesn’t define anything. Whoever win, will be #1 at the table, 3 points clear.

Why would La Liga want such a match at 4pm local time? Hahah yes when I relocate there I'll surely get super into footy again and have to pause my American sports fandom.

Rebound goal sounds about right for Benzema. Life on the World Cup and UCL champions is nice. Meanwhile Lewandowski going 1 on 3 against Real's D

Another high possession loss for Barca? Xavi has no answer for countering teams.

Madrid’s fans were chanting “Xavi quédate”, asking him to stay with Barcelona. It seems he had no answer vs Bayern, Inter and now Madrid. Used to blame the lack of talent, they gave him some, now there are defensive puntual errors, other times it’s the forwards and off course protesting the lack of friendlier refs.

Lewandowski did miss a close tap in, it seems that when Ancelotti’s Real Madrid has a chance, it’s adiós muchachos. Some said Gavi and Ansu Fati should have started. Another canterano, Piqué also plays well those matches, and is not nearly as finished as other players. Last season was still good.

It seems that in the goals, Barça has their lines too forward, then on counter attack gets exposed. Though the only game they absolutely had to win, was at the Camp Nou vs Inter, which was a 3:3 draw and signified going to Europa League. The other lost games vs big teams were all on visit and none was a goleada.

At the league, they are doing good, very consistent.

Having our top 3 CB's injured really sucked even though Kounde just came back. Madrid were the much better team regardless.

Benzema actually shows up against big teams unlike Lewy.

Messi leaves and Barca goes to Europa. Ronaldo is beyond finished and Madrid win CL's without him. C'est la vie

Barça typically always lose at the Mestalla stadium. I guess they are happy to pickup 3 points there.
