They might make the playoffs this year.
These Laker s always seem to land on their feet, eh?
They might make the playoffs this year.
Except for dropping 50 pieces on the Spurs and our excellent team defense
It’s all good, they went 10 years between les (and the most recent one was an asterisk), and they missed the POs for 6 years straight, and possibly 2 more straight misses.
Of course they did. We held on to all this cap space primarily to get involved in that westbrook deal and it never happened
Mavs win is good. Warriors need to add something.
MEM, CLIPS even LA still need to add players. TOR, BOS any team serious does.
This. Very surprised this is being viewed in a positive manner on this board and elsewhere. There are still major issues with the Lakers' roster and DLo is averaging the most minutes of his career yet only the 4th most points. For every big game he has a game. He's relatively easy to man up and no longer gets easy buckets at the rim as he did a few years ago. He's a traffic cone defensively. He's a net zero player as far as impacting a winning team.
Malik Beasely used to be a 6th man candidate. Now he is not even averaging 40% FG% on more than 12 shots a game. If Will Hardy was ready to part ways with him, it underscores my view that he's not a plus player.
Neither one of those guys in DLo and Beasely are worthy of a FRP even in light of moving Westbrook off your roster for the remaing 27 games or whatever considering he was completely off the books then. If they choose to keep Beasely beyond this year he carries a ~$16.5M tag which is ridiculously high given his 13ppg average, along with lower than expected rebound/asist numbers for a guy averaging 27mpg (3rd most in his career).
Point being, this is a bunch of blah even if it goes through.
Throw in the turmoil with AD clearly unhappy and you've still got a team with a ceiling of fighting for a play-in spot.
With the Westbrook deal no longer an option. I’d look to the Warriors. I think they need to dump Wiseman’s contract. He’s not very good but if the Warriors had any draft capital to send out with him - wouldn’t be a bad option.
Looks like Acne to Phoenix per Shams
Wow. Durant traded to Suns.
Didn't even give up Ayton nor Paul.
That trade is gonna blow up in their faces tbh.
Hey but we got Birch and a protected FRPin just in the knick of time to stay irrelevant before this news broke.
Maybe we should offer Westbrook a multi year contract after hes bought out by Utah now to get back in the news
Marks does a win now move with Irving but now punts on KD.
Sad
Marks was in a bind. He did a good job until Irving and Hardin destroyed the team.
Well Suns deal might hurt in the long run, but they just moved into the favorites if Durant stays healthy. That’s a damn good team.
With how weak the West looks, Phoenix has to be the favorite to make the finals now?
Rockets just lucked out. They own all of Brooklyn’s draft capital for the next 3-4 years.
That unprotected 2029 pick is going to be nice as when Doncic walks in '26 after Kyrie goes Kyrie again.
if they also land Wemby
Seriously that 2019 team with DLo, Jarrett Allen, Dinwiddie, Lavert, etc.
Wasn't a le contender, but had a solid group of players. it turns out the KD/Kyrie/Harden saga didn't even finish much better either.
Well at least this time Durant only joined a 64 win team instead of a 73 win one.
Sounds about right tbh.
