Florida Man Suffered Heart Attack at Casino Table as Game Continued: Suit (newsweek.com)

In fairness to the dealer, mmmaybe he summonsed security right away.

Still to keep dealing the other player and counting the slumped guys chips while he is having a heart attack slumped over the table.

    How absolutely casino-like if true.

Casinos have cameras everywhere so it will be easy to see how long the dealer took to react.

There are rules in place to keep dealers and the pit bosses attention on the tables. I'm sure plenty of people have attempted to fake a medical emergency to try to steal from the casino. Just because the dealer didn't jump over the table and administer CPR doesn't mean help wasn't called. Vegas casinos are loaded with people at all hours, somebody else could've helped as well.

Maybe he had gambled away the family fortune and they are just trying to get some of it back?

Seriously though, quite sure as another poster put ton of cameras in there and witnesses to see how long or what was done to get the dude help.

I've only been to the Mandalay Bay and the Luxor there.

Definitely nicer casinos overall in Vegas and with more table games and poker specifically where I excel at. But nothing beats the rocky mountain views of the indie casinos in Blackhawk/Central City Colorado even though you're pretty much just limited to arcade but I go every other summer anyway when I get this promo on my email for a free 3 night stay and $50 casino game credit plus two meals per day and unlimited soft drinks, and free participation in that one game where you have to press buttons as fast as possible.

x2 for Blackhawk/Central City. It was about 20 years since I've been but it was winter with snow on the ground. Incredible atmosphere. At the time, it was like being the in old west. I don't know if they've changed the buildings since then. But I definitely was able to play table games at the few casinos I went to.

Maybe I was looking at the wrong street. This is close to how I remember it. But the buildings in the pic have definitely been upgraded.

It's a very walkable little city with amazing mountain views. I only go in the heat of the summer when the highs get to around 70 and the low temps around 40. That's my kind of summer weather. The elevation is around 9k. The color schemes have changed and there is an RMO dispensary now plus a few other dispensaries. When you arrive in the city (it's not too far off I-70) there's a few skywalks now which connect some of the buildings built I guess for winter tourists. I stay at the Z casino hotel which is right next to the RMO dispensary but go to the other ones too and use their new guest promos until I make about 20 bucks playing arcade blackjack and then cash out and leave. Also there's like 2-4 American flags left and I walked past a few gay pride flags as well. There's this one breathtaking picturesque view of a mountain with $1M+ value houses built in the hills and a train that takes you up and down the mountain. There were a handful of pot head hippies on the streets there last summer but it wasn't a place where there were a bunch of homeless like what I saw in Aurora and Denver on the same trip. I just enjoy the experience for what it is. Every even year except 2020 because covid so I went in 2021 and 2022 instead but I won't be going this year, but will probably go back there in summer 2024.

No table games out of the casinos I went to but I can't be 100% sure there weren't some I missed that did have them.

I'm sure it's changed a bunch since I've been there. It looks like a lot of the casinos are corporate. I was in Denver so I had to take the stupid gambler bus back and forth.
But just a quick Google shows me they have table games at most of the places.

Okay, they had a limited "table" game section which was like 2 days a week and only the pure chance stuff like roulette and craps and not the sit down more skilled stuff you find in bigger casinos like blackjack or poker. I couldn't find poker anywhere and the only blackjack was on the rigged machines.

I think my favorite casino experience was at the Rivers Casino in Chicago in December 2019. It was across the street from the Hyatt my company paid for and the office next door they had me working from that week. Tons of actual legit table stuff there and I won hundreds that night playing sit and go texas hold`em poker tourneys.

For me, Central City was the best experience I had. Mostly just from the scenery. I've been to the stuff in Louisiana (when it was pretty new) and it was fine. But once you leave the casino, it's just Shreveport. Choctaw was pretty good. We saw John Mulaney there and they had a huge section of non-smoking just below our rooms so that was pretty cool. Winstar was fine. I was out working in Pasadena one time and went to this place called Morango Casino. It was pretty far from my hotel so I had to take a taxi. At the time, I'm guessing it was 90% Asian men smoking. No problem with the Asian men but the smoke was unbearable. Oh yeah...went to Lake Tahoe and played there. That was pretty nice. They had a dance club attached to it and after I lost all my money, I hooked up with a cool local chick. So that was a bonus. Also gambled on a couple of cruises and a South Padre booze cruise. Nothing special. The danger with the real cruises is that you can just run your room card and get chips. Pretty dangerous. Especially if you're drunk.

I'd love to go back to Central City and spend a couple of days to enjoy more than the casino.

Sounds like the dude should have been in the gym instead of the casino. Best way to deal with casino owners is to not spend your money there. Else they are businessmen plain and simple.

Yeah I make a trip of it whenever I go to CC and Colorado in general. I usually do Rocky Mtn National Park/Estes Park, scenic drive on I-70, stop in Aspen, walk around the small towns, work from cool libraries with great views in places like Boulder. I have old timer family there too and my mom grew up in Aurora so she's got old friends there too. We always go from June to August though because it's actually against Colorado state law to drive our regular sedans from September to May (due to the winter weather I'm assuming)... you can get fined at least $1000 and/or be kicked out of the state.

I’ve never stepped out of my car in Colorado and thought I don’t want to live there. My daughter had a few soccer tournaments there and we did Garden of the Gods a couple of times and just go to random small towns and have a great meal with a great view. We’d even drive around to open houses and be shocked at the cost. I’m sure it’s all doubled by now.

Yeah, I did Garden of the Gods and climbed Pike's Peak in October 2017. It was unseasonably warm for that time of year there actually that year. Everything - I mean everything - is way too expensive there. Aside from the taxes (income, property, gas, pretty much across the board) the prices of everything from basic food to restaurants to entertainment to houses is WAY WAY WAYYYYYY too expensive there. But unlike California you get the feeling it's much safer overall as long as you stay away from the bad parts of Denver and Aurora... so to visit Colorado, unlimited times yes, but to live... no, you've got to be kidding me.

The thing I like most about the summers though it can get blazing hot east of the mountains in Denver and Colorado Springs and believe me in June 2022 it was blazing - 100 degree heat but very windy and mostly dry heat - at least the nights cool down into the 50s unlike the humid Eastern half of the country where most of the summer nights are sticky and sultry and honestly make me kind of sick and with my sleep cycle. Love the colorado Climate, plus my long hair stays straight there without blow drying, whereas in Texas or Florida or anywhere else east of the dry line (or the PNW, but i've only been there twice) my hair gets frizzy and wavy and I have to use the blow dryer every 8 hours or so to keep my hair straight.

Never been there when it was hot. Yeah...it's expensive but when I'm on a trip, I kind of just accept that. I don't go on a lot of trips so when I do, I want to 1) get a nice hotel and 2) eat great food. The excursions are all pretty reasonable. Yeah...I couldn't afford to live there. I have some friends that got out there 20 years ago and are doing fine but they got their property cheap and have progressed at their jobs. But they don't have families. Once you get married and have a kid, your options are limited. But I wouldn't trade what I have to be single in Colorado.

    Good thing...

I go on long out of state driving trips 5-7 times per year so I splice hotels, eating out etc with strategically sleeping in the car and say, eating Costco hot dogs and pop for $1.50 plus tax.
