I like the way the white panels on the FIBA ball male it easy to tell which way the ball is spinning.

Technically Mamu will be in his third year this upcoming season…

    big season coming? RC_Drunkford
I said in the middle of the season they should try starting him for Jeremy. Then when he started at the end of the season we started to win games and he had good chemistry with Wemby. If the Castle/Sochan duo does have spacing issues there's a legit chance for Mamu to start at the 4. He might be a bit undersized, but is a high IQ guy, can shoot and brings a lot of intensity, especially when it comes to fighting for rebounds. He needs to up his 3-point shooting percentage and improving his handles would go a long way I think.

He'll show something this season, watch. In the last 8 games of the season he averaged 11.4 PPG 9.9 RB 2.1 AST 0.5 BLK with 47.2% FG and 37% from 3 in 26 minutes. The guy is a legit bench rotation player.

Mamu seems like a great dude who is also a good fit with Wemby, it's understandable why they would prioritize him over Barlow. Hopefully he'll be back.

I'm a huge fan of Sandro and advocated him playing more from the start of the season, but I'd hesitate before overrating end-of-season production. That's "Shaeden Sharpe is going to be great! Jalen Green is incredible!" territory. Good teams are not paying much attention as they focus on tweaks and the future of the playoffs. Bad teams are more or less checked out. And so marginal players start looking great. Sochan is much better for the full-season grind and is on another level overall.

That said, I'm part of your fanclub with him.

Mamu is the kind of player you look to build your bench unit he is just so smart and plays hard and is a great team player.

I love Mamu and hope he returns. I couldn't tell if he proved to be a great fit with Wemby, or, that any big with high-IQ is a great fit with Wemby.
Perhaps the possible Markkanen deal is holding up the Mamu decision. I guess we'll find out soon.

Great to see Mamu back. In a weird way he could go from marginal bench player to rotation guy in the way Patty did for us. Different players but both seem like great dudes to have on a team. I do think he is slowly improving his game but needs opportunity.

Whose jersey would that have been? Rod Strickland? Derek Anderson?

Damn, is that a Rod Strickland jersey? Maybe McGrady when he had that cup of coffee here once.

Definitely a Rod Strickland or Derek Anderson jersey. T-Mac didn't sign here until 2013 and they had stopped making those Champion-brand jerseys long before that anyways, so it wouldn't be his jersey. I'm gonna guess Derek Anderson considering Strickland was traded 7 years before Mamu was even born tbh.

How old do we think Mamu is here? 10? That would be 2009. Malik Hairston was sporting #1 back then DerMarr Johnson sported #1 the season before.

I'd gotta be a Rod Strickland throwback, Cory Alexander or Derek Anderson? TMac was 2013... does Mamu look 14 here?

I'm gonna go with throwback Strickland. Not sure what kind of NBA store they might have had in Tbilisi at that time but I don't see it being an Anderson.

Well, if Wemby doesn't pan out, the Spurs can just build around Mamu ...
