Would love Mama back on the right deal but could also see a bad team overpaying him this offseason based on a couple big performances this year and thinking they can get more of that out of him. Poor defender, but a good shooter/floor-spacer and a great locker room guy.

as a bottom of the bench guy in a "break glass in case of emergency role" to give the team a shot in the arm, you could do a lot worse.

I like him and think people forget he's still young. All of his career impact stats point to a guy who has steadily improved as an NBA role player, & I can definitely see him as the Luke Kornet of the Spurs, a guy that does his job and can be helpful as a bench player but who can also fill in during injury issues, especially if he's sandwiched in between Wemby and a SF who defends well.

He's not a 8-9 man playoff rotation guy on a contending team, but offers decent bench depth as has been stated. I doubt anyone lines up to give him a big payday, which leaves the possibility he returns.

Mumu is a pretty good shooter and locker room guy, however he is lacking on the defensive side. If you can accept him as the 8th - 12th guy on your team, then that's great. If you can't, well then its going to be a challenge finding other guys with his skillset for a minimum contract. I know those players are out there, but its usually the teams with good scouting that sign them first with the spurs waiting around for leftovers or for their draftees to develop (which doesn't always happen). So if I were the spurs I'd just resign him to a short contract and not waste time. I think he's earned it.

From Mamu grabbing the game ball and his social media post saying "Thank you for everything San Antonio" - he may have already been told he isn't coming back next year. It was a fun ride.

What's funny is that I think you could make a relatively similar statement about Keldon Johnson (who isn't actually a pretty good shooter, but everything else applies). But Keldon got a big extension and a place in the rotation, while Mamu is left twiddling his thumbs at the end of the bench. I'm not sure Keldon is much better than Mamu, tbh.

Mamu is a streaky scorer and tremendous motor, on top of being a good locker room guy. I think he is one of Wemby’s favorite people to play. I’d be happy to see Mamu back.

The spurs have an idea what role Mamu should play and how much he is worth in salary. Mamu may have a different idea. Considering what he has done this year, other teams may agree with him and offer him more playing time and money. If he leaves we know why and he stays he should be rewarded for his efforts like other spurs before him.

Keldon has the heart of a lion and has led spurs comebacks many times. Like every other spur, he has his highs and lows, but he always gives it his best effort which is more than I can say for some other spurs. If you think about the salary cap going up and Keldon's salary going down its actually a decent deal especially with only two years left. For comparison, often injured deadbeat former spur Zach Collins will make more than KJ next season. Prime example of an organization paying a player about the right amount and paying another way too much. Who would you rather have ?

He‘s a perfect 3rd stringer that you can throw into the game if you need a spark or caught the injury bug. I wouldn’t mind having him back

Would love to have him back for depth. Be the kind of guy who pops up for a few 20-point games during the winter load management doldrums. Anyone younger and potentially better at his contract price would be better served getting reps in Austin.

What's the shirt Danny's got on? Says Mamu, Danny Green on it, but can't read the rest.

Mamu can shoot the 3 and move the ball around unselfishly. Seems better than a lot of our players. He's affordable. Branham, Wesley, Keldon, and Devin - for various reasons - I have more concerns about.

Man, we need defense and rebounding, but I love Mamu, so bring him back if he's willing to come back for a minimum contract (I assume that is what he got paid last season?).
