He should have been a perfect fit. There's something up with the built in culture there. Maybe the players all feel en led and aren't really willing to dive into the 3rd row for that loose ball. Dunno but it's strange.
I thought Shaka Smart was going to be a perfect fit... I'll own up for being way wrong about that. He's a good guy but it really didn't work at Texas.

The biggest problem imo is Texas is not a blue blood in basketball. I’m not sure how to get over that perception because it’s warranted.

then we get into the SEC with an incredibly difficult regular season and the exposure was complete in one year.
I think we make a rebuilding hire. 5 million is peanuts. But so far with what is out there, there is no perfect fit like the strangler.
And I guarantee you we are not taking Texas A&M‘s coach after their last 10 minutes in the tournament. also his style absolutely sucks.
in my opinion you really have to have a group of guys that can all score and move the ball around and play defense. All of these things.
that’s not easy to stumble upon when all the players look at your school as Football first.

Yeah...I don't see them ing around with this hire. It's been way too long since basketball has been consistently relevant.
