Caught a lil of SNB last night. Ofcourse there was discussion bout Ohtani

There is no way a buyer will offer a package consistent with acquiring an elite hitter & pitcher.

Angels should just ride this out. Forever remembered as the team that sold Ohtani? Lose alot of that Asian fan base.

In return they at best get 3 everyday players (counting 1 arm).

Last night guy mentioned trading Soriano for Arod. Best example was from 20+ years ago. If you trade him you better be in the playoffs within 2 seasons or you are canned anyway

Dodgers are 70% to sign Ohtani.

Moreno is equally as bad an owner as Oakland A's shyster.

If you're a Yankees hater you've got to want him to stay as manager.

Ya Dodgers cleaned their books. Sacrificed this season.

I'd like to see Angels ride it out with Ohtani for the season.

Haha they just signed Sean Casey from MLB network as Hitching Coach.

This is poor player development & signings. Stanton when they were low on pitching is big one.

Angels have to trade Shohei at the deadline, right?

Get what prospects you can squeeze out of the Dodgers rn cuz there is 0% chance of him coming back in FA.

Angels just doubled down...the opposite direction

Trading for the #1 available Starter

I don't see how the Angels franchise can save face and realistically move forward when they've given another great player Trout, 3 total Playoff games in his career [2014].

Furthermore I don't think they were ultimately happy with the packages being offered for Ohtani. That's the elephant in the room. Which team especially a contender could afford to acquire essentually a Top 5 hitter and Top 5 pitcher in 1 single deal? Maybe if there was a extended deal promised.

So putting it all together, I don't think Angels owner wanted to go down in history as the guy who traded Ohtani. This franchise is so hungry for contention and not a middle-lower payroll franchise that will struggle with acquiring free agents down the road.

I initially saw that Angels were also requesting a suitor take Rendon and his anic contract in the deal.

Atleast now if Ohtani does walk, they can hold their heads up high and say they did all they could to Win. Who knows maybe they get into the Playoffs and he actually stays. I don't think it's a slam dunk he is leaving. Some of these destinations like the Mets/Padres aren't looking so attractive anymore

    Babe Ruth modern day.

I suggest if you're able to see him at a park near you, go for it.

    Get his autograph too.

"The Mets will be responsible for the majority of Verlander's salary over the course of the deal, paying $35 million this season and next season according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post."

Ouch. Strong prospects in return though

Gelato has bombed in his first 2 Angel starts.

Gonna wish they had traded Babe Ohtani?

Nope. Texas out maneuvered their ass by getting Schezler.
Starting with last nights uber choke job after Babe Oh had given the Angels a 3-1 insurance lead with a bottom 8th rocket HR.
Pen proceeds to walk 2 and then give up a Grand Slam. FFS.

I believe Angels continue to choke it off. Which makes it so much better for whichever team lands Ohtani. Won't have to give any players in return.

If the Padres could super sucker some team into taking on Machado they'd be in a postion to take on Ohtanis contract.

I don't believe in Blue Jays but forsee them, Mariners and Angels for the final spot. I think Anahiem still has a good shot for that. Fortunately Indians won't spoil the party riding a weak division.

I'm attending the Dodgers vs Padres jungle tomorrow at Petco. Latina goldmine.
