Wemby's reaction, talks to spurs fans!
    https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name...-antonio-spurs

(scroll down for the ITV vid)
I totally missed Peter J. Holt's reaction cause I was too busy doing pretty much the same thing. Priceless.

All those hopes we'd trade up and get James Wiseman or DeAndre Ayton for us to land #1 this year is insane. Some sort of luck is on the Spurs side.

Wemby wanted the Spurs and apparently dreamed it this morning that it would be the Spurs.
    See video in link.

I legit didn't watch a lot of highlights to keep from getting my hopes up. I mean, the bag here is effing obvious, but a couple of things are just wild:

    1. His closeouts are monstrous. Like, totally out of the chance of a rotation and then he's blocking a 3 point shot. It's insane.
    2. His handles are phenomenal for his size. Still needs tightening, but just absurd. He's like a taller Durant being able to move with the ball.

Just even before getting to work on development he's going to erase a freakish number of shots. He's not just huge, he legit has great instincts and knowledge about basketball. I thought Chet's weak-side help blocks were elite last year; Wembanyama's are even better. And then just dunk-spot stuff. He's going to make life easy on a lot of plays when he seals his man or just moves on drives: just get it up there and it's two points.

    Absolutely bonkers.

This still feels like a dream. 4 hours ago we were sweating and waiting to get the 3rd or 4th pick. Then the Pistons and Rockets fell by the wayside and the flood gates opened. Unfreakingbelievable. We actually got him after all this waiting. Crazy.

Has good form on his jumpers and some shake to his side-steps and turnarounds, also launches from very deep, but hasn't hit .300 from deep in his career. Some work there needed. But he hit .829 from the stripe this year, a big improvement from previous years, at a pretty good number of attempts a game.

So relieved that SA doesn't have to figure out the Scoot/Miller/Thompson stretch anymore. Someone elses problem now.

I got my Classic - edition Wemby jersey coming in the mail. Gonna look to buy an authentic Wemby home jersey in October.

I can't believe Wemby is gonna be a Spur!

    Go Spurs Go!

Been dreaming about this for two years. So many people on this board and beyond said, 'Not gonna happen.' No grudge on any of them -- it was a 14% chance. So many hours watching highlights and footage, thinking 'what if it actually happens?'

And it did. And we're HERE. And I can't wait to see what this team does next. Welcome to SA, Victor.

the exact same. Only highlights have been on Twitter that’s it.

now that I can stupidly bring myself to dig deep on him on YouTube

I just don’t see how you can say “ok we’ll draft him but we’ll keep it slow“

don’t do anything stupid, but, it’s time to build, time to add slowly.

    time to get serious again.

i love how we have gone from trying to precisely calculate a player's height by cross referencing different photos at different angles to just having a giraffe on the roster
