No athlete in history has been more overrated by Old Heads than Jim Brown, but all the same he was great for his era.

There is still some 92 year old black man in Cincinnati who will insist that Jim Brown is the greatest football player to ever live.

Must have been real tough trucking those 230 lb nose tackles.

But seriously, dude was a legend in his era.

i remember seeing some interview of some old timer raider players talking about their teams from the 70's/80's. dude was talking about gene upshaw pulling saying "imagine being a defender and seeing 260 pounds coming right at you"

I always laugh when watching "NFL films" of old games, and they interview the players from the game, and it's some pipsqueak looking white dude, and he was a ing lineman.

To be fair most of these obese players today shrink after retirement.

They had less strength and speed back then but were definitely mentally tougher. Unless you remember them dancing on the field like teenaged girls in the old games.

Yup like I said. Most things NFL these days are bloated. The vaunted player size/speed is no different. It's a Sports League full of 99% national players. No escaping that fact.

Yeah he's probably on Ozempic. There are vast differences in nutrition, weight training, strength and speed.
