This one, stings.
RIP Ducky.
In order to save the life of "Big X" David McCallum gives up his own life by massacring a *Nazi Gestapo Agent.
-The Great Escape- '63
*denotes Nazi's bad then.
This one, stings.
RIP Ducky.
Also Thread Culburn I don't get why you call him Nazi Killer?
He seemed a bit of a pacifist to me.
Dang he had a long and good life though. Acted until his very last days. He was in the very last episode of NCIS just in May 2023, season 20, which may or may not be the final season ever of NCIS considering the writer's strike cancelling this season and the sort of general public apathy for NCIS after Mark Harmon's character departed. I think CBS would do well to replace NCIS and a few other of its older running shows probably. NCIS jumped the shark when Gibbs left in 2021, NCIS LA was wisely canned for good, and NCIS Hawaii has (predictably) been a bust. It's time for CBS to move on, like they did with the CSI's in 2015.
Just his character.
In the film -The Great Escape- he murders the Gestapo agent there in the train depot hunting the escapees. David shoots him in the heart so he can't expose "Big X"/Richard Attenborough who is in the same depot. David then tries to run for it thru the crowd...a German policeman orders the crowd to "Runter!"/get down leaving David exposed and shoots him with his Luger, David staggers onto the tracks, collapses and the close up is attained; eyes fixed & dilated.
I just remember him from -The Great Escape- and then "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." back in the '60s.
Too bad because there's still a Nazi out in Canada who's celebrated by commie Trudeau whom both needs to be killed off already. Bummer...
The last main character of the Great Escape who was still alive.
rascal
