I did read one interesting argument - The League is protecting Mahomes. It has nothing to do with the Chiefs. If he were to leave for another team "the favorable calls" would shift to that new team.

If they were really protecting Mahomes, his RT wouldn't be the most flagged player in the NFL by far. In the game against the Jaguars, they threw a flag on a phantom ilegal formation by Taylor negating a 75 yds TD by Mahomes, on the next play Mahomes re-agravated his injury on the right ankle because of the phantom call. So, if that's the case, then they are a doing a pretty ty job at it, tbh.
