all series long the home plate umpires have sucked.
They have been calling balls as strikes and strikes as balls. Also, certain pitchers from each team were getting the beneficial calls, while others were not getting the close strikes and thus had to pitch with more difficulty.

To the contrary very little is gained from tagging and going for the fly out and advance to third though I do agree he prolly could have made it.
The runner was about halfway ensuring he would score if the ball fell.
If he was tagging there would be little chance to score if the ball fell AND little is gained being on third with two outs. Only a wild pitch or passed ball or balk or maybe an infield hit scores in that instance. Going for it with no outs is a good play because you could score on a fly out.
Risking getting thrown out at third making the last out of the inning would be poor baseball.
