If only the Mavs still had Jalen dropping 35 next to Luka, they could have had a chance. At the very least they could look at the future with the certainty that they will be good for years to come with that duo. Now it's probably the Luka solo show untill he asks out, tbh.

Kyrie had a bad series against a team that was historically good, in an otherwise fantastic playoff run by him. perhaps we should take a deep dive into brunson history of struggling to score efficiently in the playoffs, and the fact that NY fans haven't realized how fools gold his numbers are bc hes only gotten to play against garbage east teams
with the Mavs he had one good series against a west team that had no good defensive guards in Utah. then immediately disappeared once he was defended by Chris Paul, mikal bridges, and klay Thompson. let's also not forget that hes actually a worse defender than Kyrie. ky gets lazy but can play solid d when he tries. but brunson even at his max effort is lousy defensively.
he's a very solid player. and letting him walk was an inexcusable mistake by cuban. but having watched him extensively from day one in dallas, then watching him do the exact same stuff in NY only against crappier teams but with more shot attempts, I have no reason to believe the Mavs would have fared any better against Boston this series with him over Kyrie.
