Doubt it. I could have seen him run if Sanders got the Democratic nomination in 16 or 20 to be a spoiler candidate but neither Trump nor Biden is a threat to his money so wouldn't make much sense.

The lease expires in 7 years so they'll probably be pushing hard for a new arena in 3-4 years.
Maybe Cuban thinks the next broadcast deal will be underwhelming and he's cashing out early? Especially if the NBA wants to stick with TV networks with the way cable TV is dying.

I don't see the NBA approving a move of a current big-market team to Las Vegas, it would make more sense to just go the expansion route. I guess worst case they might move the team and then start the expansion franchise in Dallas.
1. Mavs relocate to Vegas (new owners lied to Cuban)
2. Spurs relocate to Dallas (larger market, more attractive looking home crowd)
3. Expansion goes to Seattle (who gives a crap about San Antonio tbh)

Mark Cuban emphatically said they are NOT moving to Vegas...so 100% chance now that it will happen.
no way DFW is going without an NBA team though...Mavericks have been top 5 in attendance every year basically since the AAC opened. From a business perspective, I'd just move the Grizzlies to Dallas. Why the h*ll did Memphis get a team anyway? Complete sh1thole city, and Nashville is the much better market anyway.

If Dallas won't gift the Adelsons an arena they'll move. Just like any other city that's not LA, NYC, or SF.
Again, they want to build an NBA arena inside a casino located in Texas, where gambling has been legalized. My guess is Cuban has already purchased the votes or he wouldn't be clearing his portfolio and his schedule.

I don't see the NBA approving that without a backup plan for a DFW franchise. But who knows. The importance of market size is probably decreasing rapidly with shifting viewing habits.
I can't see the owners voting against their ability to hold cities hostage and demand publicly financed arenas. Most of them are going to do the same when their leases start nearing expiry. You'd be asking billionaires to stop demanding taxpayer subsidies, which is as American as apple pie and mass shootings.
