i know the nba didnt like teams "stashing" guys on injured reserve... but i dont get why teams arent given a roster spot in situations where a team applies for and is granted a DPE. like, if the spurs applied for a DPE on behalf of Bassey, it wouldnt really do much salary wise, but we should be able to fill that roster spot. alas, nba rules dont allow that.

makes sense. dont know if he was hurt, but he was barely playing in the gleague. given that he was already an older rookie, if he had any prospect of playing with the big boys, he'd have to show out and show out quick. if there wasnt a foreseeable path to the big club, no point wasting a valuable 2 way slot

thought rice showed good maturity and decision making in the summer league though
