Johnson can’t do anything without the ball. Problem is he isn’t good enough to be a primary ball handler. Can’t punish teams who go under screens and give him drop coverage. He just runs into them and yells AY hoping he gets a foul call. Unless he develops at least a reliable mid range shot he’s going to be a bench player at best. Took this moron coach king enough to see it.

johnson to the bench felt like an inevitability long term, but only when we got the starter who would cause keldon to get bumped, like OG or Risacher or somethin. i dont think champagnie is good enough yet, but lord knows the bench has been getting annihilated this year and keldon should be able to feast on opposing benches.

if pop benched branham for a point guard that would be the next obvious move to make

It’s well and good to bench Johnson, but Branham and Champagnie are not NBA players. On the other hand, the Spurs with their roster have a hard time putting 5 NBA players on the floor regardless.
