does everyone see how easy it is to throw an alley to a 7'4" player cutting to the basket wide open? doesn't take a veteran pg for that. Takes common fukin sense.
even though he failed to make contact on the first one, wemby can do himself a lot of favors by not slipping every screen. doing a much better job today

man does ryan dunn have potential to be a good shooter....thought of him pairing with wemby for d
nice pass by sochan even though malaki got stuffed. but on that last defensive possession sochan was a poor man's traffic cone. not only was he stationary but he wasnt even positioned between bane and the basket
What does this guy do well again?
barlow looked like a mess last game but im glad he's getting run here. he's not going to get much better continuing to put up big numbers in the gleague. he's not going to learn nba speed/athleticism without some exposure.
he will have to learn from these mistakes though. reaching to try to deflect a pocket pass to bane instead of moving his feet and trying to contest the shot... no-no
Sochan makes a beautiful pass and Branham blows the dunk
as soon as wemby sits, the game becomes a layup line.
Why does Pop keep Mamu on the bench with all these other guys getting on? Did he criticize Pops wine choice?
Vassell is ass tbh.
there are things he did reasonably well as a rookie. he's a solid enough ball handler for his position, and we've seen him put the ball on the floor to attack closeouts when there's space in front of him. and while he doesnt have point guard vision, he's able to execute some nifty passes either from the pivot or when he's on the move. as a rook, and in his one 30 opint game this year, he does a good amount of damage playing off ball, chasing down offensive rebounds, making timely cuts. he has to be active and move with purpose/aggression.
but the key to this is him being in the position of a secondayr playmaker, ie making his moves whne the defense is already in recovery mode. he's not going ot be the guy to cause the initial breakdown of the defense.
imo bigger concern is he's not a good defender, and that was supposed to be his calling card, with the offensive connector stuff being enough to complement his defensive role. if he's not bringing the defense, his offensive game isnt good enough to justify being on the floor
yup big mistake giving him a big ext.....Dude shouldint be making more then
20 million a year
I like Barlow... but the dude is soft as baby .
Memphis with 20 points in the first quarter... will still somehow end up with 120.
he hasnt taken any additional steps from last year. if anything his ability to generate clean midrange looks for himself seems to have gotten worse.
he's had these spurts where he looks like a menace getting to the rim, and then kinda just forgets how to do it.
Sniffin USA

Malaki rolled his ankle. It looks like he’s not on the bench now
Bench play with pace and tough defense looked good!
im liking mamu...keep him in pop
biggest contribution branham has made to our team defense this season tbh
Great defense in the first. I’ve been saying they have the chops to be decent on D.
Reversing KD and Vassel contracts would make more sens...
Cedi has bricks for hands
i dont think he was even looking for the pass until it was too late
not sure if thats better or worse than having bad hands
Starting to wonder if injury is Pop's way of benching people this season. It'll be interesting to see what rabbit Pop pulls in order to keep not playing Graham.
