I wonder if, given the way that Dejounte is playing, the Wolves might try and trade for him. Something like Dejounte + Capela for for KAT
Why the Wolves do it: If they flop this year, they're staring down the barrel of a very expensive roster. Naz Reid has played very well in the absence of KAT. Capela's an expiring next season, and they get to change KAT's $55+ million/year salary for Dejounte's $30 million/year salary. Dejounte gets to utilize his size at the PG position next to Ant so he doesn't have to guard the better backcourt player anymore.
Why the Hawks do it: Trae and KAT are a disaster defensively, but they have very few other outs to improve the roster immediately. Trae/Hunter/Johnson/KAT/Okongwu is probably theoretically a playoff team in the east, and may be a better option to Hawk's ownership than either dealing with an unhappy Trae or losing him altogether. However, Hawks ownership is cheap and may not want to pay tax, so that's a big reason they may not do it.
