Herbert, Los Angeles and being losing franchise savior is one of a package. They also have nice pieces on Defense that Jimbo can quickly energize.
An exercise in futility.
Always wanted to make another run at a Super Bowl. Got that trophy at Michigan, leaving after having handled Ohio 3 straight years, and losing a lot of talent on the offense. So that and potential NCAA sanctions, seems like a good time to make the jump. I have mixed feelings about him as a personality bc sometimes that personality is bigger than the program or the players. But certainly appreciate what he did the last 3 seasons.
Really not elated or upset, either way. More just eh, ok. Feels like the right decision for both him and the program tbh. I expect Michigan to trend downward next few years. And I’m ok with that too.
That and not having to fly around recruiting all year long. That seems like the one huge downer of being a college coach
Going to a stacked AFC with plenty of great QB's,,,,good luck. Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, Allen, Tua, Stroud, Lawrence and Patriots gonna get one of the top 3 QB's coming out in this years draft.
Jim is a energizer not a developer. That's why it took so long at Michigan. 49ers were middle of the road.
In my lifetime the 2 best Chargers teams were led by a physical defense
- Junior, Rodney and O'Neil
- Merriman, Jamal and Jammer
What else did those teams have - smash mouth rushing. Harbaugh will install these qualities.
