I'd love to see Castle get some sneaky All-Defensive 2nd team votes more than I'd care about him get ROTY
It feels like largely a PPG award, Knecht is a 3PT shooter ready to go on day 1 in the LA market fluff on a roster in shambles but you're right LAL could screw even that up lol
I'd love to see Castle get some sneaky All-Defensive 2nd team votes more than I'd care about him get ROTY
I'm liking the Edey, Holland and Carrington calls
Interesting thoughts
Castle will get a lot of usage as PG. He'll be in the race, not sure if he can win it though.
This got me thinking, what do you think Castle's numbers will look like?
I'm guessing around 10 ppg, 4 apg, 3 rpg, 0.7 stls. 44% shooting, 30% 3pt shooting. 28/30 mpg.
I'll go with 12/5/3, 32% 3P%. Might be homer glasses, I think his shot will see quicker improvement if he can just get a little more lift on his shot.
Was thinking about this as well considering "strength" of this draft; if Castle excels at PG, do you think he has a chance at ROY?
Well, of course. If Castle "excels" at PG next to Wemby, then he would be the favourite to win it, imho.
Malcolm Brogdon won ROY in 2017 on 10/3/4 averages. I think Castle will be around that.
Between 10/3/4 to 16/6/6, IMO.
Would be cool to have B2B ROYs
He can if Spurs out perform expectations.
They've used that argument of team results for a while against Vic
If he plays 28/30mpg I can see him average +1.5 stl/game
I agree for the rest, depending on what tasks and PT he's given of course
He averaged 0.8 stls on 27 mpg in college. He isn't really a stat stuffer.
Nice story. Now here's the reality: Antetokounmpo and Embiid were pre/early prime, the latter was both hurt and sick and Butler is neither a superstar nor was he a good fit on an ill fitting, hastily assembled 76ers roster.
Meanwhile, S bag had his usual pristine conditions: A whopping 95 games of rest the previous 2 years and a roster replete with 3 and D, positional size and veterans who'd been on good teams and knew this was their one chance (if they got a Curry/Durant injury) at an (asterisk) championship.
Giannis was MVP in 2019 and finished 2nd in DPOY
He'll have a lot less duties and as usual with Pop, your defensive impact dictates your playing time.
Just a bet but I can see him focusing on the D and showcasing himself in that area while working progressively his offense.
I'm well aware. He was still pre/early prime though at 24 and that was the Bucks first season in championship contention.
S bag is a great front runner, but the second adversity hits he takes his ball and goes home.
It seems like you rate 75% of championships with asterisks. You don't think Kawhi was a top nba player in 2019? His leading the playoffs in points and win shares that year was all just luck?
Kawhi was definitely in the conversation for best player in the World from 2017 to 2019, tbh. Even Pop went out of character and said Kawhi was the best player in the World back in 2017.
If the PG rumours are true, then I'm not sure Castle will have less duties than on college, tbh.
Also, steals aren't a matter of duties. It's just a skill you either have or you don't have. Nobody had more offensive duties than Iverson in the early 2000's and he always lead the NBA in steals. Same with Jordan.
*whispers* at his healthiest, Kawhi was on track to supplant Jordan as the GOAT.
Now you're just being intentionally obtuse.
Only most of the Warriors ones and the Craptors one and it's not about dislike. I couldn't stand the Bulls or Lakers, yet I don't include them in that.
Of course he was a top player, but the top was still indisputably James back then.
I didn't say his level of play was luck, I said he's only thrived in pristine cir stances.
I'm not sure I know anything about anything... but in the Zaza year, Nephew and Lebron were far and away the two best players in the league, IMO, and THAT version of Kawhi was on his way to being the best player in the league for years to come. It's all what could have been though. We're in Wemby's world now.
S bag wasn't even second, Durant was. He was in the next tier with Curry, Davis and Harden and never had the play making or was the galvanizing force needed to be the best.
Nah, Durant was getting his pushed in by Nephew. Neph & LBJ were def Tier 1. What he lacked in playmaking was made up by his defensive impact.
