It's a good time for him to declare with what looks like a weaker QB class, and hopefully a later pick will see him land with a good franchise.

We could have Ward/Sanders at #1 and #2 overall, and then it's a matter of who wants to pick from a pool of Dart, Ewers and Milroe.

I have a hard time believing Ewers is going to last long in the NFL because he's not particularly durable, nor is he really mobile/elusive enough to avoid taking a lot of hits. That's a bad combination.

I think his accuracy has been mediocre considering all the weapons he's had to get wide open.

But he's got a gun of an arm so we'll see. Easy to see him holding a clipboard in 3 years or less

DeAndre Moore looks to be the most “popular” man to make a move now.
I completely missed he does have us in possible bidding wars based on experience with some talent.

I wonder if this means we do have a WR to portal in…

The intrigue beyond the season seems to have become very popular with NIL, the portal and the draft combination.
And I wonder what round Ewers goes in…

Now Moore is not a popular choice to portal.

Both IT and OTF have confirmed that coaches have hit the road today to start recruiting through the end of the month.

"Earlier this morning, I posted that at least one starter is likely headed to the transfer portal. As of this hour, that remains the same. However, I can add that one of the starters who was also thinking about entering the portal has decided to remain at Texas. I didn’t name names this morning for this very reason. Yes, there’s still one starter in play. But not more than that."

Burton at OTF said it's now better than 50/50 that this starter remains at Texas.

IT added that the staff spoke with him well into Wednesday evening and all info points to him staying.

I planned to start a new 2026 thread for next week instead of waiting until traditional signing day in February since things are already moving quickly, and there's a Junior Day on the 25th.

Everyone cool with that?

Let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions on how to make the thread better, want to add/change reference info on the first page, etc.

Open to anything, especially if it helps newer folks better understand recruiting and all of the constant changes.
