these are just the ones that have been counted, the health service to clock it territory wide has been eliminated. the death count is lagging behind the killing, probably by a lot.

is there a necropolitical salient here?

    Of course.

I don't think this makes everyone nearby a legit target.

There are hardened IDF facilities underneath Tel Aviv.

Does this make the citizens above them legitimate slaughter?
    What’s your solution?

    Under schools and hospitals?

When the hate gets to a certain level we can preach all we want about the UN and signing agreements on proper kills, it does not matter. Ex. The defining of legit targets.
When you use Palestinians as fodder Thats a problem. And I can also see that Benji will crave a good slaughter of Israelis so he can carry out operations planned in which Israelis are likely in the way.

As a purely legal exercise I see the complications. But the reality is rules mean little when the hate is so intense.
The worst actions, the torturing followed by death, have not even been addressed either in this particular discussion.
Torturing of innocents. There are actions worse than killing imo. Mental and physical torture followed by a kill.

in fairness, we're not talking about bombs dropped on targeted operational sites here...this is a more random, more unfocused attack. you sort of didn't answer the question. are booby trap attacks like this legit warfare?

if so, the whole world just got more unsafe.
Level of hate can make rules irrelevant.
It should be discussed, but if all one sees is red in the head and straps explosives to themselves… it’s an exercise for governments that don’t necessarily control individual behavior. Even individuals part of government.

Also, most of my rhetoric that involves Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah is aimed at one poster, hater, who pretends he is a humanitarian. This personally I cannot abide. I can read Israeli papers that are disgusted with Benji and I totally get it. You and I don’t have to legitimately worry about being put in tough situations like IDF men and women or being born into a family in which your first lesson is to hate in an manner we cannot fathom. It’s easy for us to pretend to be arbiters of morals.

Dunno, but this war seems to be creating bigger problems for Israel than Hamas.

Wait a second... is CosmicCowboy suggesting that he wore his pager tucked underneath his ball sack?

I haven't seen a pager in 25 years... but I seem to recall them being worn on hips...

I did have a pager before I got my Motorola Brick phone. Like a lot of people I hooked it into my front jeans pocket. That's close enough to the jewels to be in danger from an exploding pager.

Not the way he has reacted in the past to crocodile tears for humanity and then he gets upset when called out.

Iran has not retaliated as expected? So….

Iran may be getting exactly what it wants: the isolation of Israel from its few allies left (the democratic ones anyway)
This could be looked at as a big win for Iran from a number of points of view.

    1. Ruining the Israeli-Saudi relationship that was coming to an understanding
    2. US Israeli relations clearly shaky
    3. Putting Israeli military in a more difficult situation with 3 places of conflict (South in Gaza, West Bank, North w/Lebanon)

This could be looked at as Iran successfully enraging Israel knowing that with hostages involved, the Israeli military and Benji would still have a connection to its own public. Iran has its own eternal problems which are no longer on the front burner. Israel is more than willing to kill fodder for Iran and take out Iran’s military specialists. Which may consolidate Iran’s own public and cause Israel significant international problems. Iran may have successfully inflamed and merged three different conflicts; Using Israeli intransigence, especially when hostages are involved.

Iran is clearly ready to play ball in a wide range of international conflicts. Iran does not have the punch of a world power but nevertheless could be looked at as an advanced international player. They are also on the way to nukes via Russia by helping with the war against Ukraine.
