Will Hunting you/we were big time wrong about this guy. He makes Daniel Cameron look competent by comparison. And Josh Stein isn't even a good candidate for the Democrats but he may have won by default if this loser stays/stayed in the race.

He frequented porn sites including "Nude Africa" despite being married, called himself a "Black Nazi", and posted on the internet in 2010 that he wanted to bring back slavery and own slaves. Not a joke.

    https://www.wect.com/2024/09/19/repo...ng-cnn-report/

I think the GOP should just completely give up on nominating these non-articulate, non-intellectual, non-thoroughly vetted black candidates going forward. Either pick a competent white dude or pick a true "exception" like Byron Donalds. This guy makes Herschel Walker look passable by comparison, but candidate quality again seems to be a big problem that the GOP can't get through their thick skulls since and including 2018. The senate candidates up north are decent this time around, but they'll have to be carried by the presidential ticket. Kari Lake is hyper-polarizing (someone like Ducey would have won the seat easily) and Sam Brown is a nobody... Laxalt running again I think would win (if Trump wins NV) because he's got name recognition, no big scandals and would perform in line with Trump. I think Sheehy wins fairly comfortably and Moreno wins close especially due to Springfield but again an underperformance up and down the ballot.

I don't think this hurts Trump's chances in NC given that these upper south type states tend to vote Democrat governor at the state level on the same ticket as GOP at the federal level, but, it seems the GOP still hasn't learned their lesson from 2022, 2018, even 2012 on candidate quality.

When discussing the Kentucky gubernatorial election last year I asked him about Mark Robinson, he said that he was different. Turns out he wasn't. He's another Herschel Walker.

Yeah my up was forgetting that black male + conservative = total sexual degenerate (Clarence Thomas, Bill Cosby, Herschel Walker, Herman Cain, etc.)
Disagreed on Thomas. Bill Cosby leans to the left. I'd arguably add Tim Scott and subtract Thomas. There's exceptions like the demure and boring Ben Carson and the very few stellar candidates like Byron Donalds, but for the most part GOP DEI picks are lousy. And it's not just black males. Look at Mayra Flores, Cassy Garcia, and Kathy Barnette... oh and that Santos fellow. People like Allan Fung were a major bust, too.

There's a lot of black male liberal degenerates too, including Warnock, to be fair. And white liberal degenerates like Cal Cunningham, Al Franken, and Eric Swalwell, for instance. And white conservative degenerates like Boebert, Cawthorn, Roy Moore, Todd Akin, Bob Good etc. And the whole squad are left and degenerate. So not completely true to laser focus on one party and demographic but still.

The thing is the Democrats have done DEI long enough (over a half century) to harvest some passable candidates in certain places, while the GOP are relatively new to it (quarter century at most).

the CNN article says a Robinson staffer confirmed an email address, I didn't see any other first hand sources mentioned.

    there was a previous leak:

The email address associated with minisoldr on Nude Africa was also used by Robinson elsewhere online and social media. On the commenting platform Disqus, a user who joined in April 2011 features Mark Robinson’s photo under the username minisoldr.

Usernames and email addresses from Disqus were publicly leaked online in 2017, according to the company. CNN confirmed that Robinson’s username minisoldr on Disqus shared the same email address as the one used on Nude Africa.

this article seems to be the original reporting in which Robinson's X-rated raunchiness first surfaces:

I hear you saying Rs are dissatisfied with their recent "DEI" hires, I see Republicans grooming sadistic morons like Trump and Robinson for power.

He's also running an evangelical anti-abortion campaign despite having had a convenience abortion with his wife early in their marriage. For thee, but not for me, mentality.

He's also had a long history of posting antisemitic comments, when Israel-Hamas is a top-five issue and his Democrat opponent is Jewish (albeit a big time carpetbagger). NC is not at all a Jewish heavy state (the few that exist are NY/NJ/DC transplants) but it's a bad look anywhere you go.

With a proper candidate, even a generic R the GOP should have won this race by a comfortable margin against carpetbagger Josh Stein who is absolutely a misfit for the candidacy, but when your opponent is this bad sometimes you can win by default.

btw, Mark Robinson says he is still running
So did Old Joe weeks and even days before he did not. I could definitely see something similar here.

I hear you saying Rs are dissatisfied with their recent "DEI" hires, I see Republicans grooming sadistic morons like Trump and Robinson for power.
It's dumb to group Trump in that same category especially when there's massive question marks about your (non-democratically nominated) presidential candidate. It's a bit of a race to the bottom for sure but both Old Joe in his current condition and Harris were two of the worst candidates the Democrats could have picked to run against Trump. I don't think there's any doubt someone like Shapiro, Whitmer, Mark Kelly beat Trump.

    lol no

NC is purple and Stein was ahead by 10 points before this story hit.

Robinson has also been dragged down by the recent revelation of business-related hanky-panky and financial disclosure omissions.

The Winged Liberty dime, minted in the United States from 1916 to 1945, depicts the fasces on its reverse side.

like Trump, he's a terrible candidate seeking investment with the fasces of power.

    NC is red side of pink at the federal level and still purple on the state level, but typically the in bent party after 8 years (i.e. Cooper, Democrat) goes down when the seat opens up... sure Robinson was trailing before this story hit but the ac ulation of scandals have been a problem for two months now. Also, the 10 point polling lead for the (D) governor candidate is historically inaccurate, favoring the (D) candidate by a large margin;

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/pol...rest-vs-cooper

Cooper, the in bent, only won re-election by 4% despite leading by 11% in the polls, and only overperformed Biden by about 5.8%.

If you extrapolate that out to 2024, using the same metrics, Stein would have to overperform Harris by likely over 3% to win, and also overperform the poll margin by about 7.4%. Both which are certainly doable even as a non-in bent, but against a generic R this is much more difficult: the last time the seat was "open" (no in bent running on either side), in 2012, Pat McCrory, a generic R for his time, won the seat by a whopping 11% https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_N...orial_election , outperforming Mitt Romney by 9% on the same ballot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_U...North_Carolina .

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/pol...inson-vs-stein

Stein is up by 9.4% in the unweighted RCP aggregate. Adjusted for recent polling error, he's up by an actual value of around 2%. Mark Robinson is such a poor candidate that Stein may overperform past polling misses if he doesn't drop out.

like Trump, he's a terrible candidate seeking investment with the fasces of power.
Now you're just BlueAnon'ing. That's about as terrible of a conspiracy theory as the flat earth theory or the satanic pedophile theory.

It's generally just the ones that are "saved by god", like Robinson, Roy Moore etc. They use the whole god fantasy as a semen shield to hide their true feelings. I've always felt Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham had something like that going on, too.

If the GOP replaces him, this yes or even redder than that... if not, it's a high lean D margin imo.

State level elections historically don't run in line with federal level elections, especially in NC and many other states (Florida is the one state where they do seem to run close together).

Democrat Roy Cooper, Governor of NC, outran Hillary by 4.5% in 2016 but outran Biden by 6.4% and Cal Cunningham by 6.6% in 2020. So NC has a decent history of state-to-federal ticket splitting even post-polarization.

There’s multiple accounts of Uncle Thomas being a sexually deviant predator.

calling Warnock a degenerate. Still coping over him beating the spear chucking ape I see.
Warnock being a degenerate, and Walker being a degenerate, aren't mutually exclusive.

Perdue & Ossoff for example didn't run over their wives with cars. Degenerates do aggravated domestic assault. Herschel Walker is a creepy pervy CTE-stricken deadbeat who believes in werewolves and more but Warnock is basically a politically privileged Ray Rice.

As for Old Clarence, he's a partisan hack that you don't like because he's on the wrong team, but he's no worse than Kamala who literally sucked her way to where she is now. And "Uncle" Thomas will likely be gone by 2026 if Trump wins, anyway. Not sure if Trump replaces him with a black candidate or not, he's gotten away from DEI lately with the Vance pick (albeit far from the best pick [Rubio, Youngkin], he didn't cave into pressures from both sides that he just had to pick either a woman or minority or both). The 3 Trump SCOTUS picks have actually been surprisingly much less partisan hackish than Thomas or Alito.
