Another MLB season full of surprises. Scoring took an u-turn and fell. A number of preseason Contenders started slow and a few never recovered.

3 main facts that stick out to me

2014 the last regular season without a 100-win club

2007 the last time the previous World Series participants both missed the Playoffs

121 the new MLB record for losses in a season, courtesy of dearest Chicago White Sox

So here we are the 3rd Postseason with expanded format. Playoffs start today. Play ball!

    Predictions:

    AL:
    Astros over Tigers in 2
    Orioles over Royals in 3

    Astros over Guardians in 5
    Yankees over Orioles in 4

    Astros over Yankees in 6

    NL:

    Mets over Brewers in 3
    Padres over Braves in 3

    Mets over Phillies in 4
    Dodgers over Padres in 5

    Dodgers over Mets in 7

    WS:

    Astros over Dodgers in 6
Not sure Braves push it to 3. I envisioned a wild series with the Home team prevailing but now Sale, Lopez and even Fried unavailable til maybe the 2nd game, at best? All these years Braves fans complained about not being on prime time and now it is, like this. And I'm not sure I'll be able to watch much because of the time difference. Of all the years I tell you!

For the 3rd straight postseason the Phillies enter fully healthy & rested. They've played 4 Wild Card games the past 2 seasons

    2022 Game1: Wheeler
    2022 Game 2: Nola
    2023 Game1: Wheeler
    2023 Game 2: Nola

Guess who are starting the first 2 games of the NLDS. If Phillies can't finally break thru, in this parity filled season then this core never will.

I like the Mets out of the WC too. First time in a decade they are finishing the season with MOJO but ultimately they aren't that talented

Should be Philly vs SD NLCS rematch from a couple years ago. I'm taking Padres but I am also bias.

American League seems unbalanced. Orioles & Yankees on the same bracket side. Indians small ball won't ultimately work big picture in the Postseason. Yah I like Houston to make the ALCS too. Sorry Cleveland but don't want to see you in that Round, getting bodied

Could it really be Yankees vs Padres?

Didn't see Detroit scoring three runs this series, much less in one inning tbh.

Feel like the Padres are gonna regret not piling it on early.

I did too but wow King and then Adams were nails.

Shaky Suarez lets just say he got thru it.

All in all about everything went right for the Pads as far as outcome.
    W
    minimal use of pen

Idk, the offense was trash outside the early hits on their rookie starter. They were no-hit by their bullpen until the Higashioka HR. The team's offense has been an issue the past month tbh.

Guten morgen. Looks like my friends had Alot of fun at the game. Up early and then cruise control.

AJ Smith-Shawver had subpar Minor League season. High K's but also high number of HRs given up. Maybe in hindsight they should have went with Anderson. But ultimately the Offense was 0-5 with RISP so probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Looks like the Padres crowd was great. All these years Braves complained bout getting shafted with Playoff games during work hours, so enjoy this

Your lukewarm response is correct but this looks like a NLCS Padres team. More balanced roster than what the Braves/Dodgers will have avaliable in the next 10 days.

I'm guessing close Game2 with the ATL pen losing late.

Max pulled in the 2nd Inning.

He's been railed in October the past 3 seasons. I'll always be thankful for '21WS Game6 and have his jersey to commemorate but best of luck on your next stop.

Not so fast! Padres advance to face LAD.

Momentum switched with the Musgrove injury. Valiant fight from the Braves. No one wanted to see anymore of this spirited but inferior bunch continue to play in prime time. Onto 2025.

If they got past the Padres I'd of rooted for them on through the WS (unless Cleveland made it). They fought through all sorts of adversity this season.

Comes down to Musgrove tbh. If he's done the Padres are done.

Hate it when relievers have the lead, cannot be beat by the guy at the plate and yet walk the leadoff batter.

What a choke by D Williams / nice bat on ball to RF by Alonso.
