Soooo, Castle starts now?
I disagree with your disagree. The league is already on thin ice with the rest of the owners, and collectively they have the power to fire Silver. It’s been close to 20 years since the Pau debacle, and that probably the interval until the next scam.
Agree. Luka will never leave the limelight of Hollywood, and the Lakers will feed him his co-stars to entertain the expensive seats.

A nightmare scenario![]()
With a superstar like Luka locked up... all the Lakers have to do is to build around him. This time, it wasn't the Lakers-big-market-special-treatment that got them Luka. It was plain stupidity by an arrogant prick of a GM and a nincompoop new owner in Dallas. Once LeBron leaves, the Lakers will have enough cap space to get another FA star/superstar to pair with Luka and build around them.
But having a strong Lakers team to contend with is good news for both the league and the Spurs as well. It gives someone like Wemby even more motivation.
Looks like that was the plan after Wemby was shut down. Get aclimated, run some offense by yourself, harass some rookies and then get ths surgery done before the end of the season
Considering the actual situation there was no need to wait, the sooner the better
Glad the Spurs are finally shutting Fox down. That previous scenario made no sense. This lets him leave on a high note and we can finally get the undisputed tank squad on the floor full time.
Don't this up. CP3, I'm talking to you.
Since this thread has turned into let's complain about Luka and the Lakers, I'll chime in with my sizzling take that The Lakers roster is not going to succeed. Even with several plus defenders they can't hide Luka enough to cover for his ty defense.
He's one of the most spectacular offensive players in history. With the pace and space game with long shooters, I think he's a liability. Maybe I'm wrong, but, even with LeBron, I see them struggling to win playoff games. The Rockets, Thunder (of course) T-Wolves and Griz would knock them out of the first round.
But, I digress, go get your surgery Fox and come back 100%+ next season and welcome your new, tall, athletic, great-shooting teammates after the draft and FA!
Guessing wanting to let Fox play at home first factored a bit into this.
I thought they would shut Fox down after the Saturday game.
Spurs are showing all indication that they will tank down the stretch. Probably gave up on that Atlanta pick being a lottery pick and are now trying to get the best lottery odds with their own pick.
Great!! Time to Sagg for Flagg!! 3 ROYs in a row coming right up...
was hoping he'd finish the two home games this week but oh well, we all knew this was coming when Vic went down.
really hope that 25-26 is the season we stop looking toward the draft lottery and start looking at playoff matchups
I think the Spurs were done whe Fox led them to a somewhat unexpected win in the second Dallas game dropping them TWO draft spots in one night. Playing Fox two more games had the possibility of locking them out of the 8 spot.
Honestly, I don’t see the Spurs having angled for the lottery this year, and if Wemby doesn’t go down, with all of the drama in Dallas and phoenix, they would have had a decent shot at the play in. They’re just kind of making lemonade at this point. They will finish somewhere between 8 and 10 with this group, so why not shoot for 8? The odds of #1 and top 4 are much better.
At least Fox went out on a positive note, giving the spurs a win, possibly giving Castle more playing time, and giving the spurs a possibility they slide a position or two down to get a better draft pick. Say isn't almost time for C3P0 to get his annual injury to his hamstring, groin pull, elbow problem or whatever injury ?
Spurs PR team getting out in front of the tanking investigation. Good stuff.
Interesting. Good to know, but I thought it was a much longer recovery. So if he continued to play, and got it done at the end of the regular season, he still would have been ready at the start of next season? I was under the impression he had to get it done before the end of the regular season to be ready to go at the start of next season.
Same here. If he had surgery right after the season finale he would be totally healed by mid July, plenty of time to be fully ready by training cap in September.
The tank rolls on...
Yeah, I think this is more to do with a soft tanking maneuver, as all I heard when he was traded to the Spurs is that he'd have to get the surgery sooner than later to be ready for the start of next season. Sounds like that wasn't correct at all.
There's a big difference with surgeries between recovered enough that the doctors say you're "recovered" and something being fully healed and back to not favoring it or treating things gingerly....
You also want him working on his skills in the offseason.
