My wife and I don't argue in public; we've never thrown anything at the another; and, we've never (outside the home) acquired separate sleeping quarters because of an argument.
Not a big deal...yet.

The wife and I have argued in public and I've slept on the couch on several occasions although I've never told her to "Go F*** herself".
But yeah, we haven't had seperate hotel rooms though.
