"Team USA lost, but I got me some money"

You know, Jefferson looks cute in those shorts. Let's sign him up for '08
STERN.......

STERN........... Maybe now you realize we have to punk FIBA more. Send our best guys. Period. Don't let them punk out... mandatory 5 game NBA suspension if they refuse to play for Team USA. It should be an honor to represent this country... but since that doesn't cut it anymore... you have to force the players to represent our league.
Another thing that annoys and agravates me, why did FIBA change the rules? What compelled them to think they needed improvement or modification? Oh I know, because the modifications are designed to punish athleticism (i.e. US players). And those refs blow blow blow... oh there goes the pig's straw house. Maybe they're involved in LakerLanny's famous "circle of seven" scheme....
Anyhow... just some random thoughts.
The US lost because they were beaten by a better TEAM.
Get over the excuses and conspiracy theories.
Sometimes, teams just get their ass kicked.
"At least I aint broke"
very true kori.
but the US team should of been a a lot better.
but nothing could be done about that, Argentina was a better TEAM than the USA.
They lost because they can't ing shoot. Simple as that. If they had Michael Redd, Ray Allen, and Brent Barry, no team would have touched them. So much for the ing "superstars".
The decline of the 15 foot jump shot in the NBA was no more evident than in this tournament.
I'm sure it's been discussed before, but it pisses me off every Olympics.Future United States Olympic teams of National Basketball Association stars will have more training with international rules before arriving at the Games, NBA commissioner David Stern said
Why the **** do we play OUR FREAKING GAME by international FREAKING rules?
That idiotic cut-off-triangle (yes, I slept through geometry, sue me!) they use for a lane and that pussy-ass WNBA 3 point line, not to mention LEGALIZED FREAKING BASKET INTERFERENCE makes me madder than a skin-head watching the Jeffersons! (Gratuitous Larry The Cable Guy referrence. GIT-R DONE!)
But, why don't we invite the people who can make the 15 foot jump shot? Even though I have respect for all these guys that went out and had there asses on the line why couldn't we set some asses on the line that could shoot.
Calm down Alamo SF, I'm sure it didn't piss you off that much when Team USA was winning the gold on every Olympic Games except in '72 adn in '88 or when the '92 Dream Team was winning every single game by more than 30 points.I'm sure it's been discussed before, but it pisses me off every Olympics.

It sounds more like sour grapes to me.
Don't blame it on the rules, blame it on Stern and Co. not sending enough shooters.
Guys like Redd, Allen, Barry, and Peeler would eat up that 20 foot three point line.
